2026 Golden Globes nominations: How ‘Sinners,’ ‘Wicked: For Good’ and more fared

It’s official: awards season is here. And one of the biggest events of the season, the Golden Globes, has just announced its illustrious class of 2026 nominees. Spotlighting the best and brightest across movies and television — and, for the first time in the show’s history, podcasts — categories, this year’s nominations were announced on Monday, Dec. 8 by Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall.

And, unsurprisingly, some of the year’s buzziest films are in contention: Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” leads the pack with nine nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for star Leonardo DiCaprio. Fellow movie multi-nominees including Joachim Trier’s “Sentimental Value” (with eight nods), Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” (with seven) and Chloé Zhao’s “Hamnet” (with six). And while “Wicked: For Good” missed out on a Best Picture nomination, it did receive five nods, including Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and individual honors for leads Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
