‘Happy Gilmore 2’ (2025)
From Top Gun: Maverick to Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, legacy sequels have become all the rage in recent years. Thankfully for fans of Adam Sandler, the SNL alum is bringing back one of his most iconic comedic creations, with Happy Gilmore 2 the biggest arrival on Netflix this weekend. It’s been 29 years since Gilmore topped the world of golf, with his retirement coming in favor of spending quality time with his new family. However, when he needs money to pay for his daughter’s ballet school, Gilmore dusts off his driver and returns to the fairway.
One of Netflix’s most exciting summer arrivals, not only will Happy Gilmore 2 see Sandler return alongside the likes of Julie Bowen as Virginia Vent and Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, but it also sees a fresh batch of eye-catching faces join the franchise, including Grammy-winning rapper and Academy Award winner Eminem and Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce. Sure to be a blast from start to finish, there is no better way to spend this weekend than catching up with an old, quick-tempered, and always funny friend.

‘Jaws’ (1975)
Rotten Tomatoes: 97% | IMDb: 8.1/10
From a brand-new comedy to the 50th anniversary of an icon, Netflix really has something for everyone this weekend. If you want to avoid the hilarity of Sandler on a golf course and would prefer an animatronic horror-fest set on the sea, then look no further than Steven Spielberg‘s 1975 classic, Jaws. The movie that birthed the summer blockbuster as we know it, Jaws follows the titular killer shark as it terrorizes a local beach community, leaving a trio of brave souls to venture into deadly waters and put an end to its killing spree.
Sure to keep you on the edge of your seat from its first moments, Jaws is just as suspenseful today as it was 50 years ago. A winner of three Academy Awards, which in retrospect is far too few, Jaws is a true American classic, featuring memorable performances supported perfectly by John Williams‘ iconic score. A tense thrill-ride through choppy waters and into some of cinema’s finest action/horror scenes, there truly is nothing else like Jaws.

‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’ (2018)
Rotten Tomatoes: 96% | IMDb: 7.0/10
One of the highest-rated teen dramas of the past 10 years, illustrated by a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes rating, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before follows junior high school student Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor) in the aftermath of her sister sending out her secret love letters to their definitely unintended recipients. With her life spiraling into chaos, can Lara Jean find unlikely romantic triumph through the dense forest of societal pressure?
A cute, easy-to-watch teen drama with plenty of memorable moments, it’s no surprise that this adaptation of Jenny Han‘s novel turned into a successful franchise, including two more movies and a hugely successful spin-off series. Following a tried-and-tested romantic formula and managing to neatly capture the anxiety-inducing chaos of teenage life, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the perfect weekend option for anyone looking for a film they can watch with anyone in the family.
