Terry gathers enough money to post his cousin’s bail and secure a pick-up truck that they can use for work. On his way into Shelby Springs, Louisiana, Terry finds himself pursued and hit by two police officers, who use civil forfeiture to seize all of Terry’s money unjustly. Arguably, Rebel Ridge is a lot more serious than the other films on this list, as it deals with many real-world social issues. Many critics believe Aaron Pierre’s performance as Terry is impressive enough to be star-making.
