Some towns and cities in Massachusetts had seen more than two feet of snow by Monday evening, according to National Weather Service snow totals released so far, with snow still falling amid the monster nor’easter affecting much of the Northeast.
As of 6 p.m.,Dartmouth held the top spot for fallen snow so far, clocking in at 33 inches, according to the NWS. Other places in Bristol and Plymouth counties were similarly hard-hit.
Meteorologists were predicting between 18 and 24 inches of snow, with the heaviest snowfall ending mid-day Monday. The heavy, wet snow and high winds could affect trees and power lines, leading to outages. Southeastern Massachusetts will likely see some of the more significant impacts, state officials said.
