This week on Netflix, the streaming service is adding more than a few new shows, movies and stand-up comedy specials that are worth checking out. But there’s a new movie and a new miniseries that are both a must-watch, and should easily rise to the top of your watchlist. “War Machine” stars “Reacher” lead Alan Ritchson in an epic showdown against a futuristic killing machine, while “Vladimir” is a steamy, spicy new comedy-drama series that has Rachel Weisz infatuated with “The White Lotus” season 2 star Leo Woodall.

Why you should watch it: Even if you’re not already a fan of Ritchson from “Reacher,” this sci-fi action flick looks like a perfect excuse to grab some popcorn and boot up Netflix. Based on the trailer, “War Machine” looks set to be the ultimate showdown between man and machine, and I can’t wait to watch.

‘Vladimir’

What it’s about: M (Rachel Weisz) is a college professor who’s in an open relationship with her husband, John (John Slattery). But even with this unconventional arrangement, her life has grown stagnant. Then, she meets Vladimir (Leo Woodall), and it jumpstarts her life with a new obsession.
Why you should watch it: You had me at Rachel Weisz. Seriously, though, this cast with a spicy premise and a (hopefully) tightly paced miniseries format seems like a recipe for success. I certainly won’t be surprised if “Vladimir” is the next big hit for Netflix.

‘Bruce Bruce: I Ain’t Playin”

What it’s about: Bruce Bruce makes his Netflix debut with “I Ain’t Playin’.” In this hour-long special, the veteran comedian breaks out his brand of observational humor to riff on family, fame and the real definition of foreplay. Scandalous.
Why you should watch it: Bruce Bruce is a multi-hyphenate: comedian, actor, Popeye’s spokesperson. But it’s stand-up comedy that made him a larger-than-life icon, and if you’ve never seen the Atlanta comedian’s brand of comedy before, his Netflix debut is the perfect time.

‘Blue Therapy’

What it’s about: Picking up from a web series of the same name, “Blue Therapy” centers around seven couples who’ve come to Netflix to air all their dirty laundry for everyone to see. Can therapist Karen Doherty save these relationships? You’ll have to watch to find out.
Why you should watch it: When it comes to reality TV, the spicier, the better. And based on the trailer for this show, there are plenty of salacious stories to be seen across these episodes. Fingers crossed that at least some couples come through the trauma bonded stronger than ever.

‘The Dinosaurs’

What it’s about: This documentary series follows the rise and fall of the dinosaurs. Covering a history that spans hundreds of millions of years, this docuseries is narrated by Morgan Freeman, so you know it’s good.
Why you should watch it: “The Dinosaurs” is executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, comes from the team that produced the Emmy Award-winning “Our Planet,” and, as I already mentioned, it’s narrated by Morgan Freeman. The trailer’s CGI animation looks a bit uncanny valley, but if you’re looking for an entertaining, masterfully crafted documentary, this series should have you covered.

“Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale”
Genre: Historical drama movie
What it’s about: Affairs, divorce and blackmail. All these and more await in “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale,” the final chapter in the “Downton Abbey” film series and the beginning of a new era at the palatial estate, as Mary (Michelle Dockery) now runs the show.
Why you should watch it: At this point, you know whether or not “Downton Abbey” is for you. If you love a period piece about the British aristocracy, then you’ll be more than ready to add this movie to your watchlist.

“Nuremberg”

Genre: Historical drama movie
What it’s about: “Nuremberg” is a dramatic recreation of the famous Nuremberg trials. Adapted from “The Nazi and the Psychiatrist,” it centers around the relationship between U.S. Army psychiatrist Douglas Kelley (Rami Malek) and his most infamous patient: Hermann Göring (Russell Crowe), Reichsmarschall of Nazi Germany and the de facto leader following Adolf Hitler’s suicide.
Why you should watch it: This isn’t the best historical drama, nor the best WWII movie ever made. But at its core are Malek and Crowe, two Oscar-winning actors who put on incredible performances in this movie. Especially, Crowe, who is transformative as the Nazi leader.
