Cocktail 2 Begins With Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon & Rashmika Mandanna; Will This Match The Success of Saif Ali Khan’s Cocktail?

In an evolving world, emerging research continues to highlight concerns that could impact everyday wellbeing. Here’s the key update you should know about:

Cocktail 2 Shoot begins:

Back in 2012, Cocktail turned into a surprise hit for Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. The film’s superhit music album was a major driving force behind its success. Made on a budget of ₹53 crore, the film collected around ₹74 crore in India. Interestingly, it opened strong with about ₹34 crore over the weekend but managed only ₹40 crore through the rest of its run, showing how it slowed down after the initial hype. Despite that, with memorable songs and urban appeal, it earned the clean HIT tag and attracted nearly 89 lakh footfalls.

Now, thirteen years later, work has begun on Cocktail 2. This time the cast features Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna. With such a fresh trio, the film will naturally carry a different vibe compared to the original. But the big question remains – will audiences embrace this sequel the same way?

Unlike other franchises, Cocktail is not a cult film. It isn’t celebrated the way movies like Dil Chahta Hai or Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara are. Its recall value largely comes from its music, not from being a pathbreaking Story. That makes the job tougher for the sequel. Much will depend on how the director reshapes the narrative and whether the new music connects as strongly with today’s audience as the original did.

With Maddock Films backing it, the project has credibility. Shahid, Kriti, and Rashmika each bring freshness, but whether this mix can match or surpass the original’s numbers is something only time will tell. So, what do you think about it? Let us know in comments.
