Shraddha Kapoor To Start Tumbbad Prequel Pahadpangira In 2026:

Shraddha Kapoor is almost confirmed to headline Pahadpangira, the much-anticipated prequel to the cult classic Tumbbad. According to a report in Mid-Day, Shraddha is highly impressed by the film’s concept and is keen to come on board, not just as an actor but also as a creative producer. A source close to the development revealed, “Shraddha, who will begin shooting Laxman Utekar’s next in November, will finalise her commitment to this project after her 2026 schedule is drawn up. If things go as planned, the film could start by mid-2026.”

The source further added, “Pahadpangira is a dark fantasy rooted in myth and folklore. She is taken by the Story’s originality and believes it can be expanded into a franchise. Besides fronting it, she may serve as a creative producer on it.”

Tumbbad, directed by Rahi Anil Barve and co-produced by Sohum Shah, became a landmark film for its unique storytelling, stunning visuals, and eerie atmosphere. If Pahadpangira goes ahead with Shraddha Kapoor in the lead, it will mark her first collaboration with Barve and a rare entry into the fantasy-horror genre — promising another visually rich and Story-driven experience for audiences.
