Audiences have seen Kalki 2898 AD being produced on a massive scale, yet Mirai has managed to deliver a cinematic experience that feels equally grand, and occasionally more impactful, at just about ₹60 crore budget. It almost feels too good to be true—but it is absolutely true!

What the makers have achieved on this budget is nothing short of a miracle. Mirai sets a new benchmark for the Telugu film industry by blending breathtaking visuals with deep-rooted mythology and history. This combination results in an Indian blockbuster that feels both authentic and universally appealing. The ambition of the project is clear, and the execution makes it all the more rewarding to watch on the big screen.

Teja Sajja, who previously impressed with HanuMan, takes things several notches higher this time. The scale is bigger, the storytelling is grander, and the fantasy epic vibe is stronger than ever. It is remarkable to see a young actor shoulder such roles and bring them alive with conviction. Mirai proves that Teja is not just repeating success but evolving with each outing.

Mirai Story:

The Story revolves around nine sacred scriptures that, when combined, hold the power to create God. Centuries ago, Emperor Ashoka divided these scriptures to safeguard them. In the year 2000, an evil force rises, determined to unite all nine and claim divinity. Standing in his way is the destined warrior, Yodha (Teja Sajja), whose journey from self-discovery to saviour forms the heart of the film. His mother, Ambika (Shriya Saran), had prophesied that the antagonist Mahavir would only manage to collect eight scriptures, while the ninth would be protected by her son. How Yodha realises his purpose and embraces his destiny unfolds grippingly in the second half.

Running at 165 minutes, the film does feel stretched at times. A tighter edit trimming around 20–25 minutes could have made the narrative sharper and more engaging. Despite this, the sheer scale of the visual effects, the mythological references to Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman, and the historical touches of Samrat Ashok keep viewers invested. The action choreography and high-voltage sequences bring goosebumps, particularly the climax, which features a jaw-dropping Lord Ram sequence.

Adding to the excitement, the makers slip in an end-credit surprise that should not be missed. It teases future possibilities and ensures audiences leave the theatre buzzing. The film rewards patience and demands attention, making the big-screen experience worth every minute.

Mirai Cast:

Performance-wise, Teja Sajja delivers yet another larger-than-life portrayal. While his character initially carries some awkward, almost cringe-inducing vibes reminiscent of Prabhas in Kalki, the arc eventually solidifies. Jagapathi Babu shines in a mystical role, and Jayaram is thoroughly convincing as the ancient priest. Supporting actors like Tanja Keller, Pawan Chopra, Rajendranath Zutshi, Sriram Reddy Polasane, and Koushik Mahata all contribute meaningfully without ever feeling like fillers.

Sound design is equally powerful, enhancing the energy of battle scenes and emotional beats. Editing by A. Sreekar Prasad could have been tighter, especially in the second half, but the pacing issues don’t derail the overall experience.
