Delhi HC backs Karisma Kapoor’s children in inheritance case:
The dispute over the estate of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur has reached the Delhi High Court, with his children from former wife Karisma Kapoor—Samaira and Kiaan Raj Kapur—challenging the validity of a Will allegedly executed on March 21, 2025.
The children allege the Will is forged and fabricated, and have sought a fair share in their father’s assets while requesting the court to restrain widow Priya Kapur and others from alienating or concealing property.

In the latest hearing on September 26, 2025, Justice Jyoti Singh directed that the complete list of Sunjay Kapur’s assets and liabilities be filed in a sealed cover. This decision followed Priya Kapur’s request that such disclosures remain confidential, or alternatively, be placed before a “Confidentiality Club.” Both Priya Kapur and Karisma Kapoor’s children assured the court they would not share any case-related details with the press.
Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing for Samaira and Kiaan, strongly criticised Priya’s position. “Two accounts have been wiped clean and 6% share appropriated. For me, there is nothing confidential. What is there to hide?” he argued before the bench.

Justice Jyoti Singh stated, “After canvasing arguments it is agreed that the list of assets of Sunjay Kapur both movable and immovable, will be filed in court in a sealed cover, copies will be shared with the parties in the list. Mr. Nayar submits that neither he nor other senior counsel, nor counsel on record nor clients (Priya Kapur) would give any press statement or leak any information concerning this case. A similar assurance has been given to the court by Mr. Jethmalani and the counsel on record as well as the plaintiffs as also Defendant 3 (Rani Kapur) and counsel on record.”
The court also allowed Rani Kapur access to a copy of the Will, subject to a strict confidentiality undertaking. With all parties agreeing, the judge ordered that while sealed copies will be filed, each litigant and their counsel will still receive access to the documents.
