How to Get Free Spirit Rod in Fisch

Fisch’s Second Sea has introduced a range of powerful fishing rods, each designed to sweeten your angling prowess. The Free Spirit Rod, a highly sought-after late-game rod, stands out as a must-have for serious fischers. However, like any other end-game rod, this one too is tricky to obtain. Thankfully, we are here. This guide will walk you through the steps to acquire the Free Spirit Rod, ensuring you’re ready to tackle the challenges of the new sea.
How to Get the Free Spirit Rod in Fisch
The Free Spirit Rod is located in the new world of Fisch. As such, you must get to the Second Sea first if you want this rod. Once you have completed the Cthulhu boss fight to reach the Second Sea, getting the Free Spirit Rod involves another array of tasks. Here is a brief overview of all the steps you must complete to get the Free Spirit Rod in Fisch:
- Before you can buy the Free Spirit Rod, you must complete 70% of the Isles of New Beginnings bestiary. This will make you eligible to purchase the rod.
- Once you have completed it, go near the shores (beside the wrecked ship) and find the Angler Quest NPC. You can use your Fisch GPS and head to these exact coordinates: XYZ= -389.3, 78.4, -394.4.
- Once you are here, you will find the rod leaning on the beam of a broken ship. Look at the Free Spirit Rod, press E, and spend 200,000 E$ to get it.
Collecting E$ is one of the biggest tasks in Fisch’s Second Sea. You can always begin with any of your First Sea rods to solve it. I suggest you farm E$ in the Isles of New Beginnings with the Ethereal Prism Rod. If you have the Steady enchantment on your rod, then it is a bonus. Remember to use Coral or Deep Coral to catch as many exotics as possible.
Free Spirit Rod Stats in Fisch
The Second Sea rods are decent in terms of stats. However, given that the First Sea rods are heavily nerfed here, there is no other option than to collect them. Nonetheless, if you have farmed enough in the new world of Fisch, then the Free Spirit Rod is the best end-game rod. Here are the stats of the Free Spirit Rod.
- Lure Speed: 25%
- Luck: 150%
- Control: 0.15
- Resilience: 10%
- Max Kg: 5000 kg

The Free Spirit Rod comes with a primary piercing passive similar to the No-Life Rod. The Free Spirit Rod also comes with a new passive never seen in Fisch. While fishing with this rod, there is a 20% chance that a rain of gems will be summoned.
During this period, you will have a chance to catch fish with the Bloom mutation. The Bloom mutation gives you a 5x selling value, which is excellent for Second Sea farming. Visually, the fish with this mutation will resemble the gem attached to the Free Spirit Rod. So, if out of all Fisch mutations, this is the one you want, then give the Free Spirit rod a try.
Best Enchants for Free Spirit Rod
The Free Spirit Rod boasts impressive stats, making it exceptionally strong for the Second Sea. While its lure speed and resilience are average, its high luck and control facilitate catching rare fish. Its ability to generate significant E$ with the Bloom mutation means profit-enhancing enchants are not important for this rod. Here is a list of the best enchants for the Free Spirit Rod in Fisch:
- Herculean: The +25,000 Max Kg helps you catch bigger fish. This is important as the Free Spirit Rod has a low Max Kg.
- Steady: If completing the bestiaries is one of your main goals, get Steady on your rod for +20% Progress Speed.
- Mystical: It adds +45% Resilience to your rod, making it 55, which is more than enough for any fish from the Second Sea in Fisch.
So, that is how you can get your hands on the Free Spirit Rod in Fisch. Which Second Sea bestiary are you completing first with this new rod? Do tell us in the comments below.
