How to Get Resin in Minecraft

Minecraft’s Winter Drop has been out for quite some time now. This new update has introduced a variety of new items in the game, including Resin clumps and the Eyeblossom flowers. Both the items are exclusive to the Pale Garden biome and behave uniquely with a change in their environment. You can use Resin to make various items like Resin bricks, blocks, and many more. However, obtaining this item is not a straightforward task. Having said that, let’s teach you how to get Resin in Minecraft right here.

How to Find Resin in Minecraft

There are two methods to get Resin in the game. The first location is the Pale Garden, and the second one is through the Woodland Mansion. If you need help locating the latest biome, you can always check out our linked post above.

1. Though the Minecraft Pale Garden

The first way to get Resin in Minecraft is through the Minecraft Pale Garden. Follow the steps below to do so:

  • Your first task is to find a Pale Garden Biome. It is recommended to visit this biome during the night; otherwise, the Creaking will not spawn in the garden.
  • Once you have spotted a Creaking, smack the monster, and it will emit orange particles. Following the trail of particles will lead you to the Resin particles attached to the pale oak logs near the creaking heart.
  • Resin can be broken using any tool and it drops the same amount of 3 units.
  • Moreover, you may break the Creaking heart with an axe or a normal pickaxe to get 1-3 resin clumps. Using a Fortune enchanted Pickaxe will give you a chance at obtaining more than 3 clumps.

You will notice that hitting the Creaking multiple times will keep on generating the resin clumps, but there will be a 5-second cooldown after each attack. If you spend the whole night mining Resin clumps, the Creaking will despawn the moment daylight strikes the biome, and you again need to wait till night to mine more resin.

Once you have enough clumps in your inventory, you may either break the Creaking Heart to despawn the Creaking or flee the biome and escape the creepy mob.

2. Through the Woodland Mansion

An alternative way to find this material in the game is to raid a Woodland Mansion, where you may find Resin Clumps as a loot item inside the chests.

To know more about this structure check out our dedicated article on Woodland Mansion in Minecraft. If raiding this massive structure filled with mobs feels daunting, you may simply follow the first way described in the above section.

Uses of Resin in Minecraft

Having gathered enough Resin Clumps in your inventory, you can use it to make various building blocks. Some of the best ways to use Resin in Minecraft are:

1. Making the Creaking Heart

You will be surprised to know that, with the introduction of the Resin clumps, the Creaking Heart has now become a renewable block. Use 9 Resin clumps to make a Resin block, and then place one such block between two Pale Oak Logs in the crafting table to make a Creaking Heart. This Heart can be used to spawn and despawn a Creaking.

2. Making Resin Armor Trims

Place the Resin Clumps on the smithing table along with an armor trim of your choice to make an orange-colored chest plate, helmet, leggings, and boots. As you can see, it’s very easy to make Resin Armor Trims in Minecraft.

3. Making Resin Building Blocks

Place the Resin Clumps on the 3×3 space of the crafting table to make a Resin Block. Furthermore, a furnace may harden the clumps into orange-hued Resin bricks. These bricks can be used to make Resin brick blocks, stairs, walls, slabs, and chiseled brick blocks. The Chiseled blocks have an image of the Creaking head on its face.

4. Making Decorations with Resin Clumps

The Resin Clumps you obtained from the pale garden or the chests in the mansion can be placed on the surface of any kind of block to make an orange-colored trail or pathway to your base. Looks quite pretty, doesn’t it?

So, this was all about how to get and use Resin in Minecraft. In the comments below, let us know where you would like to use the resin clumps to make a fresh new armor, give your base a new look, or somewhere else entirely.
