In an evolving world, emerging research continues to highlight concerns that could impact everyday wellbeing. Here’s the key update you should know about:
Rekha did Parineeta for Vidya Balan:
Vidya Balan recently completed 20 years in cinema, a journey that began with Parineeta (2005). To mark the occasion, the cast and crew of the film — including Vidya, Rekha, Dia Mirza, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and lyricist Swanand Kirkire — came together for a special celebration.

The evening’s most memorable moment came when veteran actress Rekha shared why she agreed to be part of the film. “I asked Vidhu Vinod Chopra who was playing the lead,” Rekha recalled. “He said, ‘Saif, Sanjay, and Vidya.’ I asked, ‘Who is Vidya?’ He sent me some footage, and after watching it, I called Farzana ji and said, ‘We are doing this film.’ I couldn’t take my eyes off her. For me, Parineeta was Vidya Balan.”
Rekha also revealed she wasn’t aware of the earlier film adaptations of Parineeta. “For me, Parineeta will always and only be Vidya Balan,” she added.
Talking about her bond with Vidya, Rekha shared a personal memory from the sets. “During the shoot of ‘Kaisi Paheli,’ she sat quietly, watching every move. After the song, she came to my vanity van, held my hand, and said, ‘I’ve learned so much from you.’ Today, I must say I’ve learned just as much watching her.”
Over the years, Vidya has gone on to deliver acclaimed performances in films like Parineeta, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, The Dirty Picture, Kahaani, and so on. At the celebration, Rekha’s words stood out not just as admiration for a co-star, but as recognition of Vidya’s journey and growth.
