Kindle Scribe Gen 2 just dropped to all-time low price for Prime Day — you won’t find it cheaper

If you’re looking for an e-reader you can write on, Amazon’s big Prime Day sale has just the deal for you, as the current Kindle Scribe just hit its lowest price yet. This deal saves you $100 off one of the biggest Kindles you can buy.

Thanks to the discount, the Kindle Scribe Gen 2 is down to $299 at Amazon right now. That’s the cheapest I’ve seen this all-in-one e-reader designed for bookworms and note-takers alike. And yes, it comes packed with its upgraded Premium Pen stylus to make for an easier, far more comfortable writing experience. In the U.K.? The Kindle Scribe is now £269 on Amazon thanks to a £110 price cut!

As you’ll find in our Kindle Scribe (2024) review, one of our biggest gripes was the price bump over its predecessor. Well, with this Prime Day discount taking $100/£110 off, that’s no longer an issue, making this e-reader you can doodle on a very worthwhile purchase.

With its large 10.2-inch e-paper display and updated design to make it easier to hold, the Kindle Scribe isn’t just the biggest e-reader in Amazon’s suite you can grab, but it’s also one of the most comfortable around. The extra screen space (compared to its predecessor) makes a fittingly big difference for reading and writing notes.

Speaking of its display, while it doesn’t feel as paper-like as, say, the ReMarkable Paper Pro, it’s still extremely comfortable to scribble on. And thanks to its backlighting options, it makes text clear to read — even when outdoors.

We also gave major points to the Premium Pen stylus, as it’s more comfy to hold and works naturally to doodle, erase, highlight, select text and more. That’s thanks to the Kindle Scribe picking up on actions near-instantly, and we especially like the “eraser” at the opposite end of the stylus acting like a proper, well, pencil.

It’s not without some setbacks, as it takes some time to get used to jotting down notes with it automatically reorganizing text that’s written. And it’s important to note (no pun intended) that it’s not waterproof, so stay away from reading and writing next to a pool.

Otherwise, the Kindle Scribe Gen 2 makes a compelling choice for anyone who enjoys a big-screen reading experience and doodling while they’re at it. For $100/£110 off, you won’t find this e-reader any cheaper. But if you’re after even more options, Amazon has more price cuts on Kindles for Prime Day, with up to 30% off!
