Land Rover, Jaguar Vehicles Recalled to Fix Faulty Backup Cameras
Vehicles Recalled
• 2023 Land Rover Discovery Sport SUVs with 10-inch display screens
• 2023-2024 Land Rover Defender SUVs with 10-inch display screens
• 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque SUVs with 10-inch display screens
• 2019-2020 Jaguar XE sedans
The problem: A faulty cable on Jaguar sedans may cause the backup camera display to go blank. A software issue on Land Rover SUVs with 10-inch screens may cause the same problem. In both cases, these vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, “Rear Visibility.”
The fix: Dealers will replace the faulty camera cable on Jaguar sedans and perform a software update on Land Rover SUVs. Both fixes are free of charge.
How to contact the manufacturer: Owners may contact Land Rover at 800-637-6837 and Jaguar at 800-452-4827.
NHTSA campaign numbers: 25V016 for Land Rover and 25V017 for Jaguar. Land Rover’s own number for this recall is N972, and Jaguar’s own number for this recall is H535. Jaguar’s recall replaces and expands a previous recall, which was NHTSA number 23V501.
