Some MadeGood Variety Packs and Chocolate Drizzled Variety Packs are also part of the recall.
The bars were produced between January and November 2024. The packages are marked with “best by dates” ranging from 2025 to 2026, although the exact dates and UPC codes vary. You can find the specifics in the company’s announcement on the Food & Drug Administration’s website.
“Food items go through so many steps in the manufacturing and packaging process, metals and other material can sometimes accidentally get into food before it hits store shelves,” says James E. Rogers, PhD, director of food safety testing at CR.
In this case, the metal pieces are small, flat brush bristles. On its website, the company said the pieces are “highly unlikely to be present in our products” and that it has “identified the source of an isolated issue in the manufacturing process that has been corrected.”
