Mazda Issues Multiple Recalls for CX-90 and CX-70 SUVs

Mazda is recalling some 2024 and 2025 CX-90 and 2025 CX-70 SUVs to fix a variety of issues. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and gas-only vehicles are both included in the recall.

The problems include:
• Loss of power while driving
• Engines that won’t restart after the stop-start function engages
• Malfunctioning window defrosters, surround-view cameras, and seat belt warnings
• Faulty high-voltage battery cooling systems in PHEV models

In documents provided to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Mazda says that all these issues are related to software problems and can be fixed with free software updates at a Mazda dealership.

Some vehicles will need multiple software updates. The automaker says there have been no reports of crashes or injuries related to these problems.

Earlier this year, Mazda recalled some CX-90 SUVs to fix a steering problem.
