Details have been revealed for a new health and job training hub at 3446 West North Avenue in Humboldt Park. Located at the intersection with North St. Louis Avenue, the new structure will replace a large surface parking lot just west of the namesake park. The effort is being led by ASI Health and designed by local architecture firm UrbanWorks.

ASI Health has been searching for a location for the center since 2022, when we last covered the project. At that time, they planned a 16,000-square-foot building that could fit within a standard Chicago lot, potentially at 700 North Sacramento Boulevard. Now, the team has secured a new site, according to documents shared by the alderwoman and first reported by Block Club.

Spanning two lots, the building will rise five stories in total, with a recessed entrance and three parking spaces off the alley. Its massing consists of two interlocking volumes that create large inset cutouts and a rooftop deck. In total, the project will offer 20,400 square feet of space, including offices for ASI’s new headquarters.

However, its primary focus will be healthcare. The facility will offer senior care, rehab, and behavioral health services, as well as memory care for individuals with cognitive diseases. Additionally, there will be space for bilingual workforce training in health, tech, and green careers. The $12 million project is currently in the process of acquiring the land and pursuing a zoning change.
