Prior to that press conference, the sister of a worker at the Clairton plant told local media she was searching for information about her brother’s whereabouts.
Trisha Quinn said she had contacted the site and several local hospitals but could not get firm answers about his condition. She heard from one person, who was not an official, that he was taken out on a stretcher.
“They need communication with these families,” she said.
“It’s heart-breaking. He has three kids that are messaging me every two minutes and we need answers – we need them now, even if it’s not what we want to hear.”
