Owensboro movies to have premiers this month

Owensboro will get to see both movies filmed here in the past 12 months during the last week of November.

“Christmas North of Nashville,” which was known as “The Christmas Pitch” when it was filmed here and in Madisonville last December, will premiere on Great American Family television at 7 p.m. on Nov. 23.

And “Bachelor Santa,” which was filmed here in January, will have its world premiere — complete with a red carpet — at the RiverPark Center at 7 p.m. on Nov. 29.

Jeremy Winton, a Louisville attorney, who produced the movie with Kristi Kilday, his partner in Goldenrod Film & Television, said it will feature a red-carpet “celebration featuring the film’s cast — Jason Tobias, Ella Cannon, and Grace Patterson — along with festive surprises and a touch of Hollywood glamour right here in the Bluegrass.”

He said the event will also be livestreamed.

Tickets are $23.60 and $25.70 at Ticketmaster.com or the RiverPark Center Box Office.

The red carpet starts at 6 p.m.

Kilday said, “This movie is our love letter to Kentucky.”

Winton said, “From the first day of filming to this world premiere, Owensboro has felt like the perfect backdrop for a holiday classic.”

Several Owensboro people were extras in the film.

Winton said WBKR radio will collecting donations for Christmas Wish during the premiere.

“Christmas North of Nashville” is about a women who loses her job in the big city (Owensboro) and returns home (Madisonville) to save her family’s Christmas carnival.

It stars Emily Alatalo and Jonathan Stoddard

“Bachelor Santa” is about a woman struggling to save her baking business.

She enters a baking contest to try to win money to keep her business afloat.

Santa is getting ready to retire and turn the family business over to his son, Nick.

The baker’s daughter writes a letter to Santa asking for someone for her mother to love.

Nick sees the letter and picture and decides to enter the baking contest the mother has entered so he can meet her.

The movie stars Ella Cannon as Shelby Stewart; Grace Patterson as Audra; Jason Tobias as Nick Clausson; Chase Giacomo as a male security guard; Andreas Riter as Nimmy; Jon W. Sparks as Santa; Melissa Vanpelt as Fritzi; Megan Stovall as a hostess; Jamie Hamilton as a female security guard; Linda Jayne Lindsey as Mrs. Claus; and Renee Nasser as Gabby.

It also features several area residents as extras.
