The Saudi Aviation Authority has introduced updated regulations for international travelers, requiring the declaration and prior registration of psychotropic and narcotic medicines before entering the Kingdom.
According to a circular issued on Monday, the new policy will take effect on November 1. Passengers carrying such medications must register them in advance through the Ministry of Health’s dedicated online portal at cds.fada.gov.sa.
Officials said the initiative is designed to improve monitoring and ensure full compliance with Saudi Arabia’s drug control laws. Travelers and airlines that fail to observe the guidelines will face strict penalties.
Air carriers around the world have also been directed to brief passengers on the updated rules. The Aviation Authority stressed that the step is part of broader efforts to regulate the transport of restricted medicines while protecting public health.
