Telangana to set up 100-bed CCB at Kondapur Area Hospital; will offer free treatment

Kondapur: Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha on Thursday laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art 100-bed Critical Care Block at the Kondapur Area Hospital.
Constructed at an estimated cost of ₹41 crore, this government facility will provide high-end, life-saving critical care services entirely free of charge, significantly improving access to quality healthcare in the region.
Particularly, the residents of the IT corridor and surrounding areas will receive a major healthcare boost after this facility is commissioned.
Addressing the media following the ceremony, the Minister outlined the government’s vision for a robust public health infrastructure:
Comprehensive Trauma Care Policy: The government has introduced a comprehensive trauma policy to ensure immediate transport and life-saving medical attention for victims of road accidents and other emergencies.
109 Trauma Care Centers: As part of this initiative, 109 trauma care centers are being established across the state, strategically located along national and state highways with all necessary medical infrastructure.
10-Minute Emergency Response: The government is strengthening its emergency response system, aiming to reach accident victims and provide assistance within ten minutes of an emergency call.
Expansion of 108 Services: To facilitate these rapid response efforts, the government is increasing the fleet of ‘108’ emergency ambulances across the state.
31 Critical Care Blocks (CCBs): The state is currently setting up 31 dedicated Critical Care Blocks to provide specialized care to critically ill patients.
Operational Facilities: Critical care units are already functional in Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Mahabubabad, Jagtial, Sangareddy, Narayanpet, and Adilabad.
Ongoing Construction: Construction for an additional 21 Critical Care Blocks is currently in progress, with all facilities slated to be operational by the end of this year.
Kondapur Project Launch: The foundation stone laid today in Kondapur marks the official start of a 100-bed critical care facility being built at a cost of ₹41 crore.
Focus on Quality and Speed: The government is taking necessary steps to ensure the rapid completion of the construction and the provision of advanced, high-quality medical services.
Addressing IT Corridor Needs: Recognizing the rise in health issues linked to sedentary lifestyles within the IT corridor, the Minister noted that this new facility will provide essential, improved medical care to local residents.
