These Severance Season 2 Plot Theories on Reddit Actually Make Sense

2025 is lined up with some of the most exciting releases, however, a major part of that anticipation is covered by Severance Season 2. This series brought in a fairly new concept that won over millions of hearts making its first season one of the most-watched shows in Apple TV+’s catalogue. Now that its season 2 is coming out people wonder what story it will explore and while everyone is at it, why should I stay behind? So, let’s put on our silver foil hats and let me put forth what I think is going and multiple theories I have come across regarding what is going to happen in Severance Season 2 with this plot theory.

Severance Season 2 Might Uncover Lumon’s True Goal

Since the very first episode of Severance Season 1 aired, all of us have wondered what Lumon actually does. However, multiple theories seem to be pretty legit and can turn out to be true. One such theory comes forth from Redditor fillgates, telling us that Lumon’s true purpose is bringing Kier back to life. I think this is very much possible considering the cultist nature of activities we have seen at Lumon.

In the previous season, we saw Mark and his team go against every single rule Lumon has and activate the Overtime Contingency Protocol to tell the outside world about the shady things happening at Lumon. Even though the season ended on a massive cliffhanger we all collectively thought that what Mark and his friends did would put them in serious harm’s way. However, according to the trailer of Severance Season 2, Mark and his friends return to Lumon and apparently go through no compensation for what they have done.

The trailer also states that Mark and his colleagues have become the face of the Severance Reform which indicates that after they blow the whistle on what’s happening behind the walls of Lumon a lot of outrage has emerged which somehow is a good thing according to Milchick. This gives rise to the possibility that this Severance Reform could seep into the walls of the organization giving rise to a coup in Severance Season 2.

The Truth Behind Ms. Casey Might Get Unraveled

One of the biggest plot twists in Severance was the revelation of Ms. Casey being Gemma, Mark’s wife, and now that Mark’s innie has discovered this, he is certainly going to do something about it, which is also evident by the trailer of Severance Season 2. In the trailer itself, we see that Mark’s innie tells Helena that Ms. Casey is his outie’s wife who was presumed dead two years ago and he is going to get her out of there.

However, this task is going to be much more complicated than it seems. It is possible that Gemma actually died in the outside world. Lumon managed to get her body and revive her with a Severance chip activating a particular part of her brain that allows her to be Ms.Casey inside the walls of Lumon but if she attempts to leave the building, the chip will stop working resulting in her to die.

Another plot twist we could see in Severance Season 2 is that Ms. Casey is not Gemma but a clone of her. Lumon or specifically Cobel could have got their hands on Gemma’s body and used her to create a clone of hers to work and stay at Lumon. It could also be revealed that numerous employees working at Lumon are clones.

Well, based on the trailer, these two topics will be central for Severance Season 2 and if these theories stand true, I won’t deny the time travel allegations at all.
