In an evolving world, emerging research continues to highlight concerns that could impact everyday wellbeing. Here’s the key update you should know about:
Girls Hospitalized after Alcohol consumption:
In a shocking case of alleged negligence and illegal liquor service, HOPS Kitchen & Bar (reportedly operating as All Spice Kitchen & Bar) in Lokhandwala, Andheri (West), has come under serious scrutiny after two young girls were allegedly served alcohol despite being underage.
As per initial reports, the incident occurred late Thursday night when two girls, aged 16 and 21, visited the popular suburban restaurant-bar. Sources claim that the staff served them vodka without verifying their age or checking valid ID proof.
Soon after consuming the drinks, both girls began feeling uneasy and were rushed to Cooper Hospital for treatment. Medical authorities later confirmed that the two were under the influence of alcohol at the time of admission.
For privacy reasons, the identities of the victims have been withheld and are being referred to by changed names — Neha (16) and Nisha (21). The case falls under the jurisdiction of Oshiwara Police Station, which is expected to launch a detailed investigation into the bar’s alleged violation of excise laws and failure to ensure responsible alcohol service.
Residents and activists in the Lokhandwala area have voiced strong outrage, demanding strict action against the establishment. “It’s disturbing that such recklessness persists. Serving liquor to minors is not only illegal but also extremely dangerous,” said one resident.
Authorities are being urged to examine the bar’s license, CCTV footage, and staff involvement to establish accountability. If found guilty, the management may face strict legal action under the Bombay Prohibition Act and Juvenile Protection Laws.
The case has once again reignited public concern over bars and pubs in Mumbai’s suburbs allegedly disregarding age-verification norms, risking the safety of young patrons for profit.
