Who Is Alucard in Castlevania Nocturne? Explained
Alucard has been one of the most significant characters in the Castlevania lore. He was introduced to fans in the original Castlevania, where we witnessed Trevor Belmont fight against Dracula Count. However, despite being the son of the evil vampire, Alucard sided with our hero in the duel.
Moreover, when Trevor’s descendant, Richter Belmont, was on the brink of death in Castlevania: Nocturne Season 1, Alucard showed up once again to protect him. While the majority of Castlevania fans are already acquainted with the mighty vampire, there might be new fans who wonder who this character is. Well, here’s all you need to know about Alucard.
Who Is Alucard in Castlevania?
Alucard, aka Adrian Fahrenheit Tepes, is a half-human and half-vampire who joined forces with Trevor Belmont to defeat his own father, Count Dracula. Even though he was born to an evil vampire, his thinking was always dominated by her human mother, Lisa.
Alucard’s mother died a painful death; the locals of Wallachia burned her alive after accusing her of being a witch. Following the death of his mother, Alucard was pushed away by his father. Well, that is something no child deserves.
Since childhood, Dracula didn’t see Alucard as his son. Instead, he saw Alucard as a member of his army. So, he didn’t shy away from training him like every other soldier. However, Alucard’s thinking was dominated by his mother’s final words. Lisa had asked him not to walk on the path of revenge shown by his father, instead trying to stand for humans as they aren’t strong enough to fight Dracula.
Alucard walked away from his father one day, and he offered to help Trevor after being surprised by his physical strength and strong will to fight darkness. However, after contributing to the killing of his father, Alucard went into hiding as he couldn’t handle the guilt of patricide.
Nearly three hundred years later, after learning about Richter’s quest against darkness and finding the young boy on the brink of death, Alucard decides to show up on the day of the Solar Eclipse.
Fun Fact:
Adrian changed his name to Alucard because it’s what comes out when you reverse Dracula. It seems he wanted everyone to know that he doesn’t have to do anything with the vengeful mindset of his father. In fact, the son and the father are polar opposites.
Will Alucard Be Richter’s Ally in Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2?
Alucard is the son of Dracula, which makes him an immortal being. Also, given that, vampires continue to get stronger with the years they spend in the world of living. And it’s already been 300 years since Alucard helped Sypha and Trevor in killing his own father, so we can’t doubt the powers he possesses now.
His powers and abilities make him feared even by the mightiest vampires. However, unlike other vampires, the human blood that runs through his veins doesn’t allow him to join forces with the evil. He fought for the good years ago, and now, again, we will see him join forces with the good.
Richter isn’t experienced enough to take on foes like Drolta and Erzsebet Báthory, so it would be safe to say that Alucard has arrived at the correct time. Drolta, who fans believed to be dead in the ending of Castlevania: Nocturne Season 1, is all set to make a comeback in the new season.
So, the stakes are going to get high, and we believe having Alucard by his side, Richter will be better able to fight his enemies in Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2.
Alucard’s Powers and Abilities Explained
Being the son of Dracula, it wouldn’t be fair to judge Alucard’s dark magic potency. However, we can say that the level of his dark magic knowledge is lacking if compared to his father. Alucard still has the knowledge that he received from Count Dracula and is decent enough to let him win against his enemies in any duel.
His sharp reflexes help him dodge the heavier blows from the enemies. Moreover, Alucard also has shapeshifting abilities that allow him to transform into a mist, a wolf, or a bat. As the son of a vampire, his physical strength, immortality, and superhuman senses shouldn’t be questioned.
On top of everything, Alucard is a skilled swordsman who can overwhelm the opponent by piercing his sword in their bodies in the blink of an eye.
