1.2 Million Ram Pickup Trucks Recalled to Fix Electronic Stability Control

Vehicles recalled: Ram 1500 pickup trucks manufactured between Oct. 31, 2017, and Feb. 14, 2024.

The problem: A software error in the ABS control module may disable the vehicles’ ESC.

The fix: Ram dealerships will update the ABS control module software, free of charge.

How to contact the manufacturer: Owners may contact Ram at 800-853-1403.

NHTSA campaign number: 24V653. Ram’s own number for this recall is 85B.

If you plug your car’s 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) into NHTSA’s website and a recall doesn’t appear, it means your vehicle doesn’t currently have any open recalls. Because automakers issue recalls often, and for many older vehicles, we recommend checking back regularly to see whether your vehicle has had a recall issued.
