8 Best TV Shows Coming Out in July 2025

June has been a great month for TV show fans, especially with the release of TV shows like Squid Game Season 3. That’s not all; we also got The Bear Season 4 and Resident Alien Season 4 this month as well. However, as we move towards July, fans wonder what TV shows will grace their screens next month. Well, here are some of the best TV shows that you can add to your watchlist for July 2025.

1. The Sandman: Season 2

  • Release Date – July 3 (Part 1), July 24 (Part 2), Bonus Episode (July 31)
  • Director – Jamie Childs
  • Where to Watch – Netflix

We have all seen Lord Morpheus set out into the world of Dreaming to restore order after being captured for nearly a century. This is one of the most underrated shows on Netflix right now, as the first season, while being received well by the audience and critics alike, didn’t get the attention it deserved. The narrative follows Dream, or Morpheus, restoring his tool so that he can bring back the kingdom of Dreaming to its glory days. Also, along the way, Dream reunites with some of his brothers and sisters, including Death.

The Sandman Season 2 will continue Morpheus’ journey, where he will resume his journey to understand humanity even more through their dreams. The second season of the Netflix series will be divided into two parts. The first part, comprising six episodes, will be released on July 3, 2025. The second part, however, will feature only five episodes that will be released on July 24. That won’t be the end, though, as a bonus episode will also be released on July 31. Exciting, right? Well, it’s saddening at the same time, as this will serve as the final season of the Netflix series.

2. Ballard Season 1

  • Release Date – July 9
  • Director – Jet Wilkinson, Sarah Boyd, Tori Garrett, Jon Huertas, Logan Kibens
  • Where to Watch –  Amazon Prime Video

Ballard is a spinoff of the popular crime TV show Bosch. Bosch is a popular TV show that features the adventures of the LAPD detective Harry Bosch. Over the years, we have seen Harry taking on several difficult cases, and these adventures continue to live on through Bosch: Legacy, the spin-off and the sequel to the original series. But now, it’s about time that the universe of Bosch puts some spotlight on another character, and that character will be none other than Detective Renée Ballard.

We saw Ballard making her first appearance in the third season of Legacy. She is an amazing character who also has a certain mystery to herself. Well, all that mystery will unwind in the first season of Ballard, which is set to release all episodes on Prime Video on July 9.

3. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 17

  • Release Date – July 9 (FXX), July 10 (Disney Plus and Hulu)
  • Director – Todd Biermann, Imani Hakim, Heath Cullens
  • Where to Watch –  Amazon Prime Video

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is one of the longest-running and best sitcoms in television history. The American TV show has so far released sixteen seasons, all of which have amassed massive viewership. So, it’s no wonder that the TV show was renewed for a seventeenth season. On top of that, Season 18 of the popular series is already greenlit by the studio.

Regardless, we have to focus on the seventeenth season first, which will premiere with the first two episodes on July 9. So get ready to see more of The Gang’s Irish pub adventures. We have hated yet enjoyed the gang’s erratic and unethical behavior for years, and well, that possibly won’t change in Season 17 either. The new season of the popular sitcom will premiere with the first two episodes on July 9 on FXX, and fans can stream the episodes the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.

4. South Park Season 27

  • Release Date – July 9 (Comedy Central), July 10 (Paramount Plus)
  • Director – Trey Parker and Matt Stone
  • Where to Watch –  Comedy Central, Paramount Plus

South Park is an American animated sitcom series that has been airing since 1997. Seriously, if you haven’t heard of South Park, you have been living under a rock. South Park is a dark comedy that mimics real-world political incidents in a way you would never imagine. Whether it’s Donald Trump or his tariff war with the world, the series can make fun of anything and everything.

Well, Season 27 of the satirical comedy won’t be any different, and the new season is scheduled to premiere with the first episode on July 9 on Comedy Central. Apart from that, fans can stream the upcoming as well as previous seasons of South Park on Paramount+.

5. Dexter: Resurrection: Season 1

  • Release Date – July 11
  • Director – Marcos Siega, Monica Raymund
  • Where to Watch –  Paramount+ with Showtime

Dexter: New Blood continued the journey of “Dark Passenger,” which also let us meet new characters like Harrison Morgan, Dexter’s son. It was a great show that let us take a deep dive into Dexter’s killer instinct. Well, even though Dexter was shot in the final episode of New Blood, his story is far from over, as the anti-hero character will return to give us another part of his journey in Resurrection. As the title suggests, Dexter will go through a Resurrection stable in the upcoming series, where he will survive the fatal gunshot. But what else lies ahead in Dexter’s journey? Well, we will have to wait for Resurrection to get that answer.

Of course, Michael C. Hall will return as Dexter in the upcoming sequel series. Peter Dinklage will also join the incredible cast to play the role of Leon Prater, so it’s going to be a banger sequel series with some of the most talented cast members. Dexter: Resurrection will premiere with its first two episodes on July 11.

6. Foundation Season 3

  • Release Date – July 11
  • Director – TBA
  • Where to Watch –  Apple TV+

Foundation is one of the most underrated gems on Apple TV+, like every other great sci-fi series on the network. Unlike other sci-fi series, Foundation features a rather grounded narrative. Instead of giving you over-the-top action sequences, Foundation plays around with the concept of “Knowledge.” Basically, it’s about a group of people who are tasked to preserve the knowledge of humanity when the entire galactic empire collapses. It’s a show about politics, heart, betrayal, and, of course, advanced technology.

So far, Apple TV+ has given us two incredible seasons of Foundation, and now, the series is all set to return with Season 3. The third season will premiere with the release of its first episode on July 11.

7. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Season 3

Image Credits: Paramount Plus official website
  • Release Date – July 17
  • Director – Chris Fisher, Jordan Canning, Jonathan Frakes, Sharon Lewis, Andrew Coutts, Maja Vrvilo
  • Where to Watch –  Peacock, Paramount Plus

Strange New World has been keeping the Star Trek fans happy since 2022. The show, which serves as a spin-off to Star Trek: Discovery, follows the adventures of the Starship Enterprise on different worlds. Captain Christopher Pike and his crew take on different challenges and make new enemies while exploring the galaxy. Honestly, Strange New Worlds has helped expand the already massive universe of Star Trek, and that’s what we can expect from Season 3 as well.

The success of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has helped the series secure renewals for its fourth and fifth seasons, even before the release of Season 3. Regardless, after all this wait, the third season of the popular series is scheduled to premiere with the first two episodes on July 17.

  • Release Date – July 31
  • Director – Kitao Sakurai, Jude Weng, Maggie Carey, Bill Benz
  • Where to Watch –  Peacock TV

We all love a good TV adaptation of a video game series because, you know, we very rarely get an adaptation that does justice to the original. Fortunately, Twisted Metal, starring Anthony Mackie, is yet another great TV show adaptation of a video game. The first season of the series premiered in 2023, and both new and old fans of the video game loved what the show had to offer. Anthony Mackie was great as John Doe, and the creators did a great job bringing the intense world of Twisted Metal to life. It is basically Mad Max on steroids, and who wouldn’t love to see that, right?

Regardless, seeing the positive reception around Season 1, the creators decided to renew the series for Season 2. The second season is scheduled to be released on July 31, so yes, the sassy John Doe will grace our screens next month, so you better strap in your seat belts.

That’s it for the list; of course, there might be several other TV shows that will premiere in July 2025. However, in this list, we only wanted to talk about the best and the most popular TV shows that will grace your screens next month.
