Spoiler Warning:
This post includes heavy spoilers for the Arcane TV series, including Season 1 and 2.

15. Connol & Felicia – Vi and Jinx’s Parents

The series began with one of the most pivotal moments that shaped the course of history i.e. the death of Connol & Felicia (Vi and Powder’s parents). They were killed by enforcers during the first war between Zaun and Piltover.

We had to wait until the second season to get to know more about our deadly sister duo’s parents. Their mother, Felicia, was properly introduced as a friend of Vander and Silco. Meanwhile, their father, Connol, just appeared in the specially animated montages of Vi and Jinx’s backstory.

14. Sky Young

In the first season, Sky Young was Viktor’s lab assistant. It was evident that she had a crush on him, but her strong admiration was the reason behind her death in the series. When Viktor was caught inside the hex core, Sky dashed to save him by pulling him out.

Although she saved Viktor, she was sadly disintegrated by Arcane’s uncontrollable power. Sky was seen again in a spiritual form inside the Arcane realm in the second season, but she sacrificed her life for Viktor to evolve further as “The Machine Herald.”

13. Maddie

Maddie, who was a fan-favorite character at the start of season 2, transformed into the most hated character in the Arcaneverse. First, she nearly ruined the Cait-Vi relationship, then she turned out to be a traitor who had been working for Ambessa all along.

When she tried to kill Caitlyn with her rifle, Mel luckily summoned a magical shield around her which resulted in the bullet getting deflected only to shoot Maddie. So, yeah, Maddie technically shot herself to death but fans believe she deserved every bit of the misery.

12. Loris

Loris was one of the newly introduced characters in Arcane season 2. Every fan unanimously agreed that his design reminded us of Vander. Vi befriended him, and he later joined Caitlyn’s Strike Team. We wished he would be friends with Vi longer.

However, when Loris was trying to stop the Golem giant, he was struck down by multiple arrows by Ambessa’s Noxian soldiers during the war at Piltover. Even though his character wasn’t completely explored in Arcane, he was celebrated as one of the underrated characters in the show.

11. Cassandra Kiramman

House Kiramman’s matriarch, Cassandra was one of the important members of the council of Piltover. Moreover, she was the mother of Caitlyn and Jayce’s patron. Due to her actions in the Arcane, she remained a complicated character and wasn’t popular among the fans.

At the end of season 1, Jinx launched a rocket into Piltover Council which resulted in Cassandra’s death along with Irius Bolbok and Torman Hoskel. Cassandra’s death was the primary reason behind Caitlyn’s transformation into the ruthless War General. But Caitlyn was able to process and heal from it completely at the end of the show.

10. Claggor & Mylo

Vander also took in Claggor and Mylo, similar to Vi and Jinx. Together these kids committed petty crimes until they got their hands on the Hextech gemstone. Powder tried to help Vi and her friends rescue Vander so she unleashed a Hextech-powered bomb in season 1.

But the explosion accidentally collapsed the entire building and the falling rubbles ended up killing her friends Mylo and Claggor. This was one of the saddest deaths in Arcane that continued to haunt both Powder and the audience.

9. Vi in Parallel Universe

We could never bring ourselves to witness the death of one of our most beloved Arcane characters, including Vi. Fortunately, Vi survived against all odds and stayed alive at the end of the animated series. However, when we visited the parallel dimension with Ekko and Heimerdinger, we didn’t expect to see the death of Vi in that reality.

Remember, Vi, Powder, and her friends were robbing Jayce’s home at the start? Violet died in an explosion caused by the gemstone that Powder dropped this time. As a result, Vi wasn’t present in this alternate reality where the people of Zaun were leading a happy life.

We were heartbroken as Powder from the alternate universe upon hearing about Vi’s unexpected death in Arcane. This is also the universe where the Ekko and Power’s ship became canon.

8. Isha

We didn’t anticipate the arrival of kid Isha in the Arcane series. She isn’t a character from the game instead she is an original character created to be the sidekick of Jinx. We loved every moment she was on the screens and became the must-protect character beating Maddie. But the creators needed her to give the final push to Jinx to turn around.

There have been a lot of sacrifices in the second season of Arcane. After Jayce killed Viktor, it made Warwick unleashed his monstrous side again. Isha decided to sacrifice her own life to protect her beloved Jinx. She snatched Jinx’s gun to overload it with three gemstones then fired it at Warwick and ended up getting crumbled to pieces. No matter what, fans always will remember Kid Jinx for her sacrifice despite getting one of the most tragic deaths in Arcane history.

7. Heimerdinger

Hiemerdinger, the scientific mind has been a major supporting character throughout the show. The adorable Yordle was tagging along with Ekko until they both were taken to an alternate reality. After being forced to retire, Ekko made Heimerdinger feel better and brought a purpose to his life. But, it was later that we learn that someone had to make a sacrifice in the alternate reality to send another person back to their real home.

As a result, Heimerdinger stayed back to operate the Anomaly machine to send Ekko back to their world. During this process, Heimerdinger was evaporated in the blink. However, according to the LoL lore, Yordles are gifted with immortality. So, our favorite old Yordle could return in the upcoming expansions of Arcane.

6. Ambessa

The hate for Ambessa, the ruthless warmonger increased among the Arcane fans with each passing episode. Although she seemed like an unkillable warrior from Noxus, she had to be killed before she started another war equal to the Ancient Rune Wars. Caitlyn and Mel fought against Ambessa in the final war but the mysterious Black Rose made a surprise entry to kill her.

And in the end, Ambessa died in the arms of her daughter Mel in the show. Ambessa was one of the majority antagonists in the story and she played her part very well. Even though Ambessa has died, there is a lot more to uncover in her backstory. So, we will be seeing her again in the flashbacks as Mel is heading towards Noxus in the finale.

5. Silco

Silco was one of the well-written villains in Arcane and so he was a very popular figure among the fans. After Powder got separated from her sister Vi, Silco took her in. They developed a father-daughter bond and were inseparable. But Jinx’s mental turmoil got the better of her in season 1’s finale.

In an unfortunate series of events, Jinx accidentally killed her father figure while she had a mental breakdown. One could even say Silco’s death was the final nail in the coffin for whatever was left of Powder. Silco reassured her that she was perfect and from then on Powder became Jinx completely.

4. Vander

The fan-favorite Vander was the father who stepped up to save the lives of the kids he adopted. But Powder’s attempt to help them misfired heavily which resulted in Vander getting severely injured. Even when he was in this state, Vander decided to consume Shimmer to protect his kids from Silco.

He successfully managed to save Vi but he lost his life in the act as the effects of injuries and the shimmer took over him. Vander was brought back to life in the form of Warwick by Singed. But whatever was left of him was once again buried deep as Jayce killed Viktor. The monstrous Warwick was also killed off in the end by Jinx as she needed to protect her sister Vi.

3. Viktor

Viktor went from a weak guy with a cane to Arcane Jesus within a season. Viktor had evolved into something else and remained a complex character who had different plans for the Arcane and Hextech. Thus, he eventually became the main antagonist in the end to achieve his goals at any cost.

But the finale revealed that Viktor was the sorcerer who initially gave the gemstone to Jayce when he was a kid. He was the one who started this cycle and so he decided to end it this time. Jayce and Viktor, the best friends had to sacrifice their lives to cease Hextech from existence.

Although Viktor is currently dead, he is also rumored to make a return as the machine herald can’t be killed off easily.

2. Jayce

Similar to Viktor, Jayce was also one of the crucial characters who shaped the story of Arcane. He is the reason Hextech came into existence. When he saw the future that Piltover was heading with the usage of Hextech, he knew he had to destroy his life’s work. The final acts of Arcane were focused on Jayce’s journey to stop Viktor and erase Hextech.

In the thrilling finale of Arcane, Jayce had to make a decision that involved sacrificing his life to tear down the technology he dedicated his life to. He went forward with this plan and Viktor also joined this event to save the future of Piltover and Zaun. So, Viktor and Jayce’s deaths will be remembered as one of the hard-hitting deaths in Arcane.

1. Jinx (Powder)

Whatever crimes Jinx committed, the fans (including me) always stood by her side and yearned for her redemption. In the end, Jinx flipped her character around, but she had to make a sacrifice this time around. When Warwick was aiming for Vi’s head, Jinx shoved him aside to protect her sister’s life without a second thought.

Even when Vi grabbed her hand to save her from falling off to her death, Warwick was there, once again, ruthlessly waiting to take their lives. This is when Jinx made up her mind to let go of her sister’s hand to sacrifice herself and kill Warwick with her special bomb.

So, Jinx died in the explosion as a result of her final plan. But there is a popular theory (backed with a lot of evidence from the finale) that Jinx probably could have survived this incident. But, nothing has been officially confirmed yet and Jinx’s status remains dead at the moment.

That wraps up our list of all the major character deaths in the Arcane animated series. Each of these deaths has affected in different ways which made the show even more special. That is the beauty of a show made with heart, so let us know the death that shook you the most in the comments below.
