Tehran is an engaging action thriller that dares to explore a sensitive and lesser-known chapter of international affairs. At its heart, the film is about India’s secret victory and the sacrifices made by unsung heroes—stories that rarely come into the public eye but deserve to be celebrated.

Tehran Story:

The Story follows Rajiv Kumar (John Abraham), an Indian intelligence officer who witnesses the tragic death of a young girl in a bomb blast. Determined to track down the terrorist responsible, Rajiv sets his sights on Tehran. But there’s a catch—he cannot officially enter the city, as it could strain India’s diplomatic ties with Iran. This constraint sets the tone for a tense, high-stakes mission. Helping him are SI Divya Rana (Manushi Chhillar) and Sheileja (Neeru Bajwa), each bringing their own skills to the operation.

The plot is further layered by the Israel–Palestine conflict, which directly influences the creation of the main antagonist. These geopolitical angles give Tehran more depth than a typical action movie, weaving real-world complexities into its suspenseful narrative. The big question remains: will Rajiv be able to complete the mission without triggering an international crisis?

What works well is the writing—it’s simple, realistic, and avoids turning the Story into a loud, over-the-top spectacle. Director Arun Gopalan keeps the tone composed and grounded, letting the audience feel the tension rather than overwhelming them with exaggerated heroics. The action sequences are crisp and well-choreographed, and the thriller elements are tightly woven, keeping viewers hooked until the end.

Tehran Cast:

John Abraham delivers a steady, convincing performance as Rajiv Kumar, striking a balance between physical toughness and quiet determination. Manushi Chhillar is decent in her role, adding an emotional touch to the Story through her character’s personal arc. Neeru Bajwa impresses in a strong supporting part. Elnaaz Norouzi and Madhurima Tuli have limited screen time, while Hadi Khanjanpour, Adam Karst, Allon Sylvain, and others do justice to their roles.

On the technical front, the film scores well. The cinematography captures the international setting effectively, the editing keeps the pace sharp—mostly in the second half—and the sound design heightens the suspense in key moments. The background score is adequate, supporting the mood without overshadowing the scenes.
