Apple’s Mac Mini recently got a refresh, seeing its dimensions shift around and its internals receive a big upgrade to the new M4 chip and a base of 16GB of memory. These also saw the base price hit $599, but Amazon already has a discount available that brings the price down by $100. The discount includes an automatic 7% discount and combines with a $59.01 coupon you’ll want to clip on the product page before checking out.

The M4 chip in the Mac Mini is a great upgrade. It offers superb performance for a system built into such a small chassis, with our friends over at CNET finding it quite capable in their testing. And for power users, it supports up to three external displays at high resolutions. So you can really go all in on a multi-monitor setup. Meanwhile, the Mac Mini itself will take up a meager portion of your desk. It measures just 5×5 inches and is only 2 inches tall.

Even with those compact dimensions, the M4 Mac Mini loads up on ports with three Thunderbolt 4 ports, a full-size HDMI port, and Gigabit Ethernet on the back. The front of the device provides two more USB-C ports with 10Gbps bandwidth and a headphone jack. With all that connectivity, it’s ready to serve as a little workstation.

It’s also no small thing that Apple has upgraded the base configuration of the Mac Mini to include 16GB of memory. That extra memory will go a long way toward keeping the system feeling responsive when running larger programs or trying to tackle photo and video editing. And since Apple has a tendency to charge a lot for memory and storage upgrades, getting bumped to 16GB without a big uptick in price here only makes the M4 Mac Mini that much more of a steal.
