To find out which brands make the best dishwashers, we created a statistical model that incorporates the Overall Scores of all the dishwashers in our ratings. We looked at how well the dishwashers of a certain brand performed in our lab tests, how reliable and satisfying they were to the CR members we surveyed, and how easy they were to use, which is based on the number of features the dishwashers have.
We also considered price. If a manufacturer produces dishwashers that perform well in our ratings at a lower price, it will get a boost in the brand score compared with a brand that makes similarly high-performing models at a premium price. For our overall brand scores, we looked only at brands with at least four dishwashers in our current ratings.
