Counter-depth refrigerators are less obtrusive. They sit almost flush with kitchen counters (like built-in refrigerators do), but they cost thousands less and get pretty close—much closer than standard-depth refrigerators. With a depth of less than 30 inches (and some all the way down to just 24), most counter-depth models stick out a mere few inches past the countertop or sometimes just by the thickness of the door.
For advice on shopping for a refrigerator, check our comprehensive guide to choosing the right one. CR members can read on for ratings and reviews of the best counter-depth models from the various types of refrigerators we test. You’ll find models in a variety of sizes from brands like Beko, GE, Haier, LG, Samsung, and Whirlpool. For other highly rated counter-depth refrigerators, see our comprehensive refrigerator ratings. There, you can filter for the depth you need (use the slider listed under “More Filters”) as well as additional features, such as height, width, brand, price, and more.
