Windows 11 build 26200.5600 (KB5058493) for PCs enrolled in the Dev Channel of the Windows Insider Program. This update introduces more text actions for Click to Do for AMD and Intel Copilot+ PCs, updates the About settings page with a new dedicated FAQs section, pushes various fixes, and includes other improvements.
In addition, this release includes the new AI agent for the Settings app, but it’s a feature that you must enable manually on your Copilot+ PC.
Windows 11 build 26200.5600 new features and changes
These are the new improvements rolling out for Windows 11 devices enrolled in the Dev Channel.
Click to Do text actions for AMD and Intel
The Click to Do feature now includes the Summarize, Create a bulleted list, and Rewrite options for Copilot+ PCs featuring an AMD or Intel processor. These options are already available for the Snapdragon-based devices.
Microsoft also notes that the French and Spanish languages will initially only get the Summarize, Create a bulleted list, and Refine actions. The Rewrite option will become available in a future update.
FAQs section in the About page
In addition, the software giant is updating the About page for the Settings app with a new dedicated FAQs section that provides information about system configuration, performance, or compatibility.
AI agent arrives to the Settings app
Starting with build 26200.5600, the Settings app includes a new AI agent that helps you find and change settings more quickly. However, the feature is disabled by default because, according to the company, it’s not yet ready, but it can be enabled manually.
As part of this integration, the search box gets relocated to the top of the Settings app, and using on-device AI, you can now use natural language to describe the problem or setting you want, and the feature will find and change the settings on your behalf with your permission.
However, at least initially, it only works for some queries. Sometimes, when you describe an issue, you won’t get any results.
If you want to test the feature, you can ask questions like “How do I control my PC by voice?” or “My mouse pointer is too small.”
The feature is exclusive to Copilot+ PCs, and it’s officially rolling out for Snapdragon-based devices enrolled in the Beta Channel. However, support for AMD and Intel AI processors is expected in the future.
Enable the AI agent in Settings
If you have a compatible device but cannot find the feature, you can enable the AI assistant in the Settings app with the ViveTool running the vivetool /enable /id:53427769,57244651 command and restarting the computer.
Windows Backup with file transfer feature
As part of the Windows Backup application, Microsoft is working on a new feature that will allow you to transfer your files, apps, credentials, and settings over the network to a new computer.
The feature is still a work in progress, and it’s not available for everyone at this moment. However, it’s been discovered that when launching the Windows Backup app, you’ll have the option to create a backup of your computer or transfer the files to a new device.
If you select the option to transfer the files, you will receive a passcode that you must enter on the new device to establish the connection and make the transfer. Of course, both devices must be on the same network.
Dynamic Lighting with eject option
If your computer includes devices compatible with Dynamic Lighting, you will now be able to safely remove them using the “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media” Taskbar icon.
Other fixes and changes
In addition to the new features and improvements, Windows 11 build 26200.5600 also ships various fixes, including:
- Start menu: Addressed crashes to improve reliability.
- File Explorer: Resolved issues leading to hangs, missing information in tooltips, and crashes.
- Voice Access: Fixed crashes occurring when using the Spanish language pack.
- Taskbar: Corrected issues with keyboard focus getting stuck and media controls flickering in preview windows.
- Spotlight: Fixed an issue where the “learn more about this picture” flyout could get stuck above other windows.
- Live Captions: Resolved crashes experienced in the previous build.
- Other: Improved colors in MMC and fixed an underlying issue causing some apps to hang when printing.
Preview build download
To download and install this Windows 11 build, enroll your device in the Dev Channel through the “Windows Insider Program” settings from the “Update & Security” section. Once you enroll the computer in the program, you can download the build from the “Windows Update” settings by turning on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option and clicking the “Check for Updates” button.
