Hyderabad: CION Cancer Clinics, an oncology care network in South India, has launched Siddipet’s first super speciality cancer centre, offering comprehensive cancer treatment locally to patients who previously had to travel to Hyderabad for advanced care.
The new facility is part of CION’s expanding distributed care model and is staffed by a team of more than 15 oncologists across medical, surgical, and radiation specialities.
It delivers a full range of services, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, cancer surgery, bone marrow transplants, molecular diagnostics, genetic testing, psycho-oncology, and nutrition counselling.
Patients will also have access to CION’s centralised Tumour Board, which reviews each case to ensure evidence-based, protocol-driven treatment plans.
Local access to full-spectrum cancer care
CION’s entry into Siddipet addresses a long-standing healthcare gap in the district. Currently, an estimated 80 per cent of cancer patients from Siddipet and neighbouring areas travel to Hyderabad for treatment, often facing financial strain due to travel, accommodation, and lost income.
“With the Siddipet launch, CION brings a fully-integrated oncology care ecosystem to patients’ doorsteps, eliminating the need for long-distance referrals and enabling earlier intervention and better survival rates,” said a representative from CION.
The Siddipet centre aims to replicate the standard of care typically found in metro-based tertiary hospitals. All treatment protocols at the facility are reviewed by a multidisciplinary Tumour Board comprising over 15 senior oncologists from CION’s network, ensuring alignment with national and international guidelines.
