Death Stranding 2: How to Fast Travel Using the DHV Magellan

If you have been keeping a keen eye on Death Stranding: On the Beach previews, you might have noticed that a highly advanced ship has been added in the sequel. It is called the DHV Magellan in honor of Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese navigator known for his first expedition around the globe. This technologically advanced vessel is not just a base of operations but can be used by Sam to fast travel as well. So, find out how to use the DHV Magellan to fast travel in Death Stranding 2.

How to Unlock the DHV Magellan Fast Travel Feature in Death Stranding 2

The DHV Magellan is an ultra-modern ship capable of navigating through the dark tar as well as the mysterious beaches in Death Stranding: On the Beach. After Sam becomes a part of Drawbridge, he spends most of his time on this ship, yet you need to unlock the fast travel feature by completing a main order in Death Stranding 2. Here’s how to do:

1. Complete Order No. 12

To unlock the fast travel feature, you need to complete main order 12, which is to “Investigate the Unusual Tar Currents near F1.” Higgs will make his first appearance during this mission and summons a giant mech instead of a massive BT this time. Thus, you need to defeat the giant mech boss first, and then you can head to the West Fort Knot F1.

2. Connect West Fort Knot F1 to the Chiral Network

Once you have taken down the mech boss, head over to the West Fort Knot (F1) nearby. Now, you need to report to the access terminal at the F1 Distribution Centre. As always, Sam will use his Q-Pid to connect F1 to the Chiral Network.

3. Board the DHV Magellan Ship

Upon completing the mission, Fragile will call you back to the ship. So, board the DHV Magellan and go back to your private room. Then, Tarman will confirm that the DHV Magellan ship is now available to travel, thanks to Sam’s efforts. From now on, this ship can be used to take Sam to any facility that is connected to the chiral network.

How to Fast Travel with the DHV Magellan in Death Stranding 2

To fast-travel with the DHV Magellan, all you need to do is open the ring terminal and hold the X button to start charting the course. All the distribution facilities you have connected will be visible in a gray ship icon on the map. You need to hover over the facility you want to travel to and press the cross button again to embark on your journey.

This fast travel option is not limited only to the Australian continent, as the DHV Magellan can take Sam back to Mexico using the Tar currents. Before you embark on a journey using the ship, you will receive a special notification if you have cargo on the ship.

You can now take cargo with you while fast travelling with the DHV Magellan. However, the cargos delivered using the ship will receive a different evaluation and rating.
