Every New Movie and Show Coming to Prime Video in October 2025

Prime Video remains one of the most fertile streaming platforms to find new movies and TV shows each month. Whether you’re looking for family-friendly entertainment, classic TV shows and movies, or independent curiosities to discover for the first time, Prime Video offers a diverse array of titles.

In October 2025, there is no shortage of original action films, fascinating documentaries, true-crime stories, animated TV shows, and most timely of all, spooky Halloween options to keep horror hounds sated throughout the month. While the most popular projects are highlighted below, Prime Video subscribers can also find the complete list of new movies and TV shows coming this October.

‘Play Dirty’ (Movie)

Stream on October 1

A new heist thriller from celebrated scribe Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, The Nice Guys), Play Dirty pairs Mark Wahlberg and LaKeith Stanfield as buddy criminals with a big score to settle. Wahlberg plays Parker, a world-class thief who assembles an experienced crew that includes Grofield (Stanfield), Zen (Rosa Salazar), and others, as he takes on the biggest robbery of his career.

Based on the popular Parker novel series by Donald E. Westlake, Play Dirty follows Parker and his skilled team of thieves as they take on a ruthless South American dictator, the New York Mafia, and the wealthiest person alive. The star-studded ensemble also includes Keegan-Michael Key, Nat Wolff, Thomas Jane, Tony Shalhoub, Gretchen Mol, and Chukwudi Iwuji. Originally conceived as a reunion project for Black and Robert Downey Jr. after Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Downey Jr. dropped out and opened the door for Wahlberg to play Parker.

‘Maintenance Required’

Stream on October 8

A Prime Video original romantic comedy, Maintenance Required debuts on October 8. The story follows Charlie (Katy O’Brien), a hopeless romantic working at an all-female auto shop that is struggling financially. When Charlie begins unwittingly corresponding with her business rival, Beau (Jacob Scipio), to increase sales, sparks fly as she realizes that there is much more to life and happiness than her work.

Lacey Uhlemeyer directs Maintenance Required from a script she co-wrote with Erin Falconer and Roo Berry. The supporting cast includes Madelaine Petsch, Naomi J. Ogwa, Jim Gaffigan, Madison Bailey, Inanna Sarkis, Matteo Lane, and Julee Cerda. The PG-13 romantic comedy is a loose remake of the 1998 Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movie You’ve Got Mail and the 1940 James Stewart/Margaret Sullivan classic, The Shop Around the Corner.

‘Saquon’

Stream on October 9

Arguably the best running back in the NFL in 2025, Saquon is a sports documentary film that charts the tumultuous career of Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley. In 2024, Barkley became just the ninth player in NFL history to rush for at least 2,000 yards (2,005). Had he not sat out the final game of the regular season to rest for the following week’s Wild Card contest, Barkley could have broken the record held by Eric Dickerson.

Barkley’s tremendous 2024 season helped propel the Eagles to victory in Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs. The incisive documentary follows Barkley’s checkered time with the team that drafted him, the New York Giants, his devastating ACL injury, grueling rehabilitation and recovery, and how his career changed for the better once he signed with the Eagles.

‘John Candy: I Like Me’

Stream on October 10

Directed by Colin Hanks, based on personal experience knowing the subject as a child, John Candy: I Like Me is an affectionate ode to the late, great comedic actor John Candy, who honed his comedic chops at Second City before ascending to one of the funniest and warmest actors of the 1980s and 1990s.

The subtitle refers to Candy’s indelible character, Del, from John Hughes’ Planes, Trains and Automobiles, in which Candy gave an all-time heartbreaking speech opposite Steve Martin. Produced by fellow Canadian Ryan Reynolds, John Candy: I Like Me chronicles the bigger-than-life actor’s busy career, starring in such comedic hits as Stripes, Splash, The Blues Brothers, The Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, Who’s Harry Crumb, and many more.

‘Our Fault’ (‘Culpa Nuestra’)

Stream on October 16

A Prime Video Spanish Original movie, Our Fault (Culpa Nuestra), is a steamy romance film directed by Domingo Gonzalez. The story centers on Nick Leister (Gabriel Guevara) and Noah Moran (Nicole Wallace), step-siblings who fall in love and are severely tested when fate forces them apart, reunites them, and requires them to work out their issues in a public setting.

10 months after being driven apart, Nick and Noah reunite at their friend’s (Victor Verona) and Jenna’s (Eva Ruiz) wedding and rekindle old feelings. As the two get reacquainted, Nick must put his spiteful jealousy aside if he wants to live happily ever after with his so-called soulmate. Our Fault is a direct sequel to the 2023 romantic drama Culpa Mia (My Fault), also available to stream on Prime Video.

‘Eden’

Stream on October 24

Ron Howard’s star-studded drama Eden makes its Prime Video premiere less than two months after its theatrical debut. The story follows a group of idealistic renegades who believe living off the grid on a remote island is the best way to escape modern-day problems. Alas, trouble in paradise comes quickly when the island inhabitants spiral into a fit of disobedience, rage-fueled envy, and hyper-competitive survivalism.

Starring Jude Law, Sydney Sweeney, Vanessa Kirby, Ana de Armas, and Daniel Brühl, Eden is based on a shocking true story that occurred in the 1930s when a group of Europeans attempted to civilize Floreana Island. Somewhat akin to a cult-like Lord of the Flies for adults, Eden is the biggest and most anticipated movie joining Prime Video this month when it becomes available to stream on October 16.

‘Hedda’

Stream on October 29

Starring Tessa Thompson in the title role, Hedda is a Prime Video original romantic drama movie slated for release on October 29. Written and directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman), Hedda is based on Henrik Ibsen’s celebrated 1891 stage play, Hedda Gabler. The modern-day update co-stars Imogen Poots, Tom Bateman, Nicholas Pinnock, Nina Hoss, Kathryn Hunter, and Finbar Lynch.

Hedda tells the story of a woman trapped in a loveless marriage and a household she despises, with seemingly no means of escape or improvement. As she works toward her independence and finds salvation from an oppressive lifestyle, Hedda takes matters into her own hands to foster change and tip fate in her favor. A progressive tale of female empowerment, written in a stifling period for women’s rights, Hedda is overdue for a 21st-century cinematic update.

‘House of David’ Season 2

Stream on October 5

Season 2 of the Prime Video original series House of David is set to premiere on October 5. The historical biblical drama debuted its first season in February 2025. The second season will continue to explore how the humble shepherd David (Michael Iskander) rose to prominence and challenged King Saul (Ali Suliman) in one of the greatest underdog stories in history.

The story takes place in Israel in 1000 BC, with David being appointed by the prophet Samuel to assume the throne in the wake of King Saul’s unfitness for the job. Forced to fight the mighty Goliath and fend off the Philistines, House of David is a biblical parable for the ages. Created by Jon Erwin, House of David co-stars Indy Lewis, Ethan Kai, Oded Fehr, Yali Topol Margalith, Inbar Saban, Davood Ghadami, and more. House of David is a perfect companion for the 2017 series The Chosen, which returned for Season 5 on Prime Video in June 2025.

‘Harlan Coben’s Lazarus’ (Season 1)

Stream on October 22

Just in time for Halloween, Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst’s spooky miniseries Lazarus will premiere on October 22. Sam Claflin stars as Laz, a forensic psychologist who investigates unsolved murders upon returning to his hometown. Reeling from the recent death of his father, the infamous Dr. Lazarus (Bill Nighy), Laz must uncover a dark mystery while experiencing supernatural phenomena, including the revival of the deceased.

The second Harlan Coben adaptation by Prime Video, following Shelter in 2023, Lazarus co-stars Alexandra Roach, Ewan Horrocks, David Fynn, Jack Deam, Sianad Gregory, and Charlie Mann. All six episodes of the horror/thriller miniseries will be released on October 22, making for an ideal Halloween binge-watch. The story is inspired by Lazarus of Bethany, the New Testament miracle in which Jesus resurrected Lazarus four days after his death.

‘Hazbin Hotel’ (Season 2)

Stream on October 29

After a six-year hiatus, the hit horror adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel finally returns for Season 2 on October 29. The show’s premise follows Charlie Morningstar (Erika Henningsen), the caring and compassionate daughter of Lucifer, who opens a rehabilitation center for outcast demons as a way to reduce Hell’s overpopulation.

With characters voiced by Stephanie Beatriz, Blake Roman, Alex Brightman, Keith David, Kimiko Glenn, Alex Newell, and more, Hazbin Hotel Season 2 includes eight episodes. Season 2 will continue to expand on Charlie’s leadership role in the ever-busy hotel as the fate of heaven and hell looms in the balance. With the Vees vying to control heaven, Charlie must protect her mother, Lilith, who will have an expanded story arc.
