Hollywood movie filmed in Omaha has red-carpet premiere

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) — A major motion picture had its big debut right here in Omaha!

“All is Merry & Bright” is a holiday comedy focused on a fictional Omaha family.

Wednesday night, the cast and crew celebrated the film with a premiere at B&B Theatres at the Oakview Mall.

The cast and crew of “All is Merry & Bright” walk the red carpet at the film’s Omaha movie premiere.

Actors Emily Rose, Eric Close and Doug Jones were just some of the stars who walked the red carpet.

“We want to support the arts and we want to support going to the theater,” Jones said. “It’s easy to watch movies at home when you do this with your TV, of course, but the theater experience is unmatched.”

Lead producer Shun Lee Fong is an Omaha native and Creighton University alum. He worked with director Cory Edwards to film some scenes right here in the city.

Edwards said Omaha is essentially an additional character in the film.

“We have extras in the movie, so people will recognize themselves from Omaha in our movie,” Edwards said. “Just everybody was helpful and I would make another movie here, absolutely.”

If you go see the movie, you’ll recognize the Old Market, Midtown and many of the iconic buildings in Omaha in the scenes.

The movie opens in theaters everywhere on Nov. 7.
