Riot’s gifting system is finally here in Valorant with the patch 10.08, and it lets you share guns with a friend without dropping them in the game every round. But there are a few things you need to know before you start. The gifting system in the game is not as simple as clicking ‘send.’ This guide breaks it all down so you can gift skins in Valorant the right way.
How to Send Valorant Skins As a Gift
In Valorant, you can only buy and gift the featured store skins to your friends. You can either buy the full bundle or individual items within the bundle. To do so, follow the simple step-by-step process below:
- Go to the Store tab from your Valorant main menu.
- Select the featured bundle that you want to gift.
- Click the ‘gift’ button, under the purchase button in the lower right corner.
- Finally, choose a friend from your friend list and click Next.
- Your friend will receive an email regarding the gift.
How to Accept Valorant Gifts
That does not complete the gifting process. Once your friend receives the mail, they will have three options to choose from. First, use the Accept option to complete the process and claim the Valorant skin gift. In case you don’t want the gift, you can use the Reject option. If you do not take any action for 60 days, the gift will vanish. This will refund the purchase to the gift sender’s account.
Valorant Skin Gift Requirements
Now, before you gift skins to your friends in Valorant, you must know some important requirements. Here is a list of all the important gifting criteria and rules:
Who’s Eligible to Receive Valorant Gifts?
Not everyone can send or receive gifts right away in Valorant. Your account must reach level 15 before you can send any items, and you’ll need to be friends with the recipient for at least seven days. On top of that, both you and your friend must be playing in the same server region (such as NA, EU, LATAM, APAC, or China) to exchange gifts.
What Skins Can You Gift in Valorant?
You can gift a variety of cosmetic items to your Valorant friends — including weapon skins, sprays, player cards, titles, and more. That said, there’s one major limitation: only items from Featured bundles in the shop are eligible for gifting at this time. But don’t worry; according to Riot’s 10.08 patch notes, more gifting options are planned for future updates. On the Valorant support page, Riot officially confirmed this.
Moreover, if your friends have some items from the bundle you are sending, the purchase will automatically adjust. This means you will only purchase the rest of the items from the bundle through gifting.
Can You Refund Valorant Gifts?
Unlike the refund of skins, gift refund works differently. Once you purchase and send a gift, you can’t get a refund unless specific conditions are met. If the recipient accepts the gift, you’re locked in. Any refunds that do happen will return the value as Valorant Points, not real money. So, yes, make sure you spend carefully. Here are the criteria that will make you eligible for the refund:
- The recipient declines the gift (you’ll get full VP back).
- The gift isn’t claimed after 60 days. In this case, the gift sender will get full VP back.
- Riot approves a refund due to special cases like legal restrictions or a compromised account, but you’ll need to contact Valorant support.
That is how you can gift skins in Valorant. Which Valorant skin will you be gifting first to your friends? Do let us know in the comments.
If a gift is accepted by your Valorant friend, there will be no refund options for it.
