MCU Thunderbolts: Sentry Powers and Abilities

With the official trailer out now, Marvel’s Thunderbolts is finally closing in on its release. This movie has been in anticipation since the very first time hits were dropped regarding the creation of this project in Black Widow. That movie introduced a few members of the team like Red Guardian, Yelena, and Taskmaster while the others were introduced in different Marvel projects. However, one of the highlights of this movie is the appearance of Sentry in Thunderbolts. Sentry Appears as Bob In the Thunderbolts Trailer

The trailer for Thunderbolts introduced us to Bob, a character who was trapped in a box and appeared when the lead cast members were fighting each other only to figure out that they were being trapped to be killed. In the comic books, Sentry’s real name is Robert Reynolds and his nickname is “Bob” so Sentry appears in the trailer of Thunderbolts as Bob, the name he introduced himself with to Yelena and the others. As of now, we don’t know if we will get to see him in his comic-accurate suit but let’s hope for the best.

Who Is Sentry in Marvel and What Powers Does He Have

In the comic books, Sentry is one of the most powerful beings on the face of Earth. He is described to have the power of a “million exploding suns” However, to tap his powers he needs to be in a peaceful state of mind. If his mind wavers, he cannot use his powers to the full extent. Sentry’s powers include super strength, flight, invulnerability, Intelligence, energy projection, and enhanced senses. All his powers are fueled by the radiation of the sun.

In Thunderbolts movie, we might not see Sentry access his full potential initially but still have his powers. In one of the scenes of the trailer, we see that his clothes have massive bullet holes in them but he does not have a single scratch on his body. This could indicate his possessing the powers of invulnerability in the movie and as the film proceeds, we might get to see the full extent of Sentry’s powers.

Who Is the Sentry Actor in Thunderbolts?

In the upcoming Thunderbolts movie, Lewis Pullman is going to play the role of Sentry. Initially, Steven Yeun was supposed to appear in the role but he had to drop out of the movie because of conflicting schedules of his other projects. As of now, we do not have a lot of information regarding how much of a major or minor role Sentry is going to play in Marvel’s Thunderbolt movie but we will let you guys know as soon as there is some update!
