Netflix reveals top 10 most-watched movies of all time

The streaming giant Netflix has recently published a list of its top 10 most-watched original movies over on Tudum, and number one probably won’t surprise you at all.

Sony Animation and Netflix’s animated sensation KPop Demon Hunters broke yet another record, with Netflix revealing that the film has officially surpassed Red Notice to become the streaming platform’s most-watched original film. Considering the amount of hype that has surrounded the film since its release on the platform in June, so much so that it took the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with its scorching summer hit “Golden”, we’re not surprised that it’s taken the crown.

Per Tudum, whose rankings are determined using total views for each film’s first 91 days of release, KPop Demon Hunters has racked up over 443,400,000 hours viewed and 266,000,000 views overall since launch. In comparison, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Ryan Reynolds’ 2021 action comedy Red Notice has 230,900,000 views, putting KPop Demon Hunters ahead by quite a bit. I bet animation lovers are feeling really vindicated right now, huh?

After KPop Demon Hunters and Red Notice comes the Jaume Collet-Serra 2024 thriller-film Carry On, starring Taron Egerton as a stressed-out-to-the-max TSA agent who faces an excruciating decision when he is blackmailed into carrying a horrifying nerve agent on board a flight. The film brought in 172,100,000 views and 344,100,000 hours logged.

Next is Adam McKay’s 2021 Don’t Look Up, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, who attempt to warn humanity of an approaching comet that will destroy Earth. As you might have expected, it doesn’t go to plan. That racked up 171,400,000 views and 408,600,000 hours logged.

Next is Shawn Levy’s 2022 film, The Adam Project, starring Ryan Reynolds and Zoe Saldana, which arguably proves that a project featuring Reynolds and Levy is sure to do well. This science-fiction comedy follows a pilot who steals a jet that allows him to go back in time. As expected, shenanigans occur and the pilot and his younger self must team up to stop the assassination of their future wife. Sounds wacky? That’s because it is. It pulled in 157,600,000 views and 281,000,000 hours.

The last five films included in Netflix’s top 10 list include the 2018 post-apocalyptic horror film Bird Box, starring Sandra Bullock, with 157,400,000 views and 325,300,000 hours logged. Back in Action, a 2025 action-comedy film starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx, brought in 147,200,000 views and 279,700,000 hours logged. Next was the 2023 psychological thriller Leave The World Behind, starring Julia Roberts, at 143,400,000 views and 339,300,000 hours. Second to last is The Russo Brothers’ 2022 film The Gray Man, with 139,300,00 views and 299,500,000 hours, and last but not least is Millie Bobby Brown’s epic 2024 fantasy film, Damsel, which brought in 138,000,000 views and logged 253,000,000 hours.
