New chiropractic practice opens in Post Falls

Life is better in alignment. That’s the mission statement of Rebecca (Bekki) Williams, owner of Atlas Aligned Upper Cervical Chiropractic in Post Falls.

Working in the field for more than a decade, Williams knew early on she would one day help people achieve their optimal health.

“I have always known that I wanted to be a doctor of some kind, even since I was 5 years old,” Williams said. “My mom had migraines when I was a child, so we spent a lot of time nursing her. I’d come home from school, and she’d be lying in bed with all the lights off, or in the bathroom throwing up.”

Williams said her mom would often have a migraine hangover from the medication that she had to take.

“I really knew that I wanted to find a way to fix her and not just understand why it was happening,” Williams said. “That’s what got me into healthcare.”

When she learned about chiropractic, Williams said she knew that’s what she wanted to do.

“What appealed to me is that it didn’t involve drugs or surgery,” she said. “We can help people to allow their body to heal itself, which I really believe is what our body is designed to do. We figure out why is it not doing that and then fix the root cause of the problem.”

She enrolled at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash., for her undergraduate work in Chiropractic Medicine, and continued her studies at Life Chiropractic College in West Hayward, Calif.

After graduating, Williams worked for an upper cervical chiropractic clinic in Spokane for 10 years before opening her own practice in Post Falls in April.

“We provide a non-invasive approach that focuses on the relationship between the head and neck,” Williams said. “We restore balance and alignment with no bending, twisting or popping.”

Williams said she is one of the 76 board-certified upper cervical chiropractors worldwide.

“It allows me to take a deeper dive to get people the best patient care that they can,” Williams said.

Williams also has the latest technology at her fingertips.

“We use a CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) machine that takes a 3D view of the head and neck. It provides a great resolution so we can see exactly what’s going on inside,” Williams said. “It also does a video X-ray, which is quite unique.”

Williams said she also treats people with lower back pain and sciatica and does what she calls “infant adjusting.”

“I’m Webster certified — which is the specific technique for pregnancy — I work a lot with moms who are expecting,” Williams said. “So, we do the infant baby’s first adjustment, which I recommend doing at about two weeks old.”

She offers a post-treatment resting suite to give patients some downtime after their adjustment.

“It has zero-gravity chairs designed to put your body in the least stressed position,” Williams said. “You really get an opportunity to just rest and relax for about 15 to 20 minutes.”

The charge for an initial evaluation is $200.

Williams accepts insurance.
