With each new chapter, the God’s Knights are solidifying their position as one of the most fearsome villain groups in One Piece. Among them, Gunko has stood out as an especially menacing character since her debut, and she has taken control of the Elbaf island situation.
In a previous chapter, fans learned that Gunko is a fan of Brook’s music. So, they had been itching to see Gunko cross paths with her music idol, Brook. Although Gunko did come across the Straw Hat Pirates in the previous chapters, the most awaited exchange between the Soul King and Gunko didn’t happen.
Now, the moment that fans have been waiting for has finally happened in One Piece manga chapter 1147. Gunko finally recognized the skeleton man after capturing the Straw Hats along with Colon on Elbaf. Fans predicted Gunko to turn sweet when she stumbles upon the Soul King on Elbaf.
However, Gunko doesn’t show any pity to anyone like we want her to, as she pins Brook down with a boot to his jaw. She is nothing but a Celestial Dragon twisted even further by malice, as she wants to keep Brook as her slave, only wanting him to make music for her ears.
“I want you to write songs for me for the rest of your life!! You’re going to be my slave!!” – Gunko
Even the Straw Hat Pirates were surprised to see a God’s Knights member being a fan of Soul King’s music, but that’s the power of music, isn’t it?
However, Brook noted that he had already pledged allegiance to Monkey D. Luffy when the protagonist saved him in the Florian Triangle. Brook reiterated that he is only loyal to his captain, which had Gunko seething and kicked him away. Even when Gunko emphasized that refusing her offer means death, Brook made it clear that he would choose death over a life devoid of honor. So, Gunko’s ferocious kick sent Brook hurtling through the air.
We don’t know much about Brook’s current status, but Gunko is disgusted by her idol’s actions. A massive war is breaking out on Elbaf island as the God’s Knights have driven the homeland of the Giants into turmoil.
With the main monster trio of the Straw Hats, namely Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, in the underworld with Loki, the remaining crew members must step up their game. So, let’s see if a battle between Gunko and Brook kicks off in the next chapter. We did see Robin and Scopper Gaban getting all ready to take on the God’s Knights.
