“The best edge support of every mattress we’ve tested”

Edge support is pretty important to me — it’s the one thing my 69-year-old mom looks for in a mattress above all else. Good edge support allows her to get in and out of bed with ease, even on days when her knees are tired, because she can rest her weight on the bed.

You could park a car on the edges of the Saatva Classic mattress, they’re just that strong (if you weren’t worried about messing up the luxury finish.)

The foam railings lend extra strength to the already strong coils, creating side support you can sit, lie and lean against.

If you tend to sleep close to the edge of the bed, you can basically dangle halfway off the Saatva before you start to lose support… as our tester Lauren Jeffries helpfully demonstrated…

“I’m such a chronic hot sleeper, I could probably overheat in a fridge. The Saatva is the only mattress that’s felt consistently cool to me”

The Saatva Classic absorbed the least heat from our tester and displayed a quick cooling rate. This means even on warm nights the Saatva will take in very little heat and disperse excess warmth with ease.

It’s one of the best cooling mattresses we’ve tested, and it does it all without specialist cooling tech.

A closer look at the Saatva Classic

We went over the Saatva Classic with a fine tooth comb when we recently updated our Saatva Classic mattress review. It was an intense process — my arms still hurt from dropping all those weights — but at the end we came to a unanimous decision: this is the best mattress you can buy in 2025.

The Classic simply nails this combo. Lead tester Claire Davies describes it as “best-in-class ability to quickly contour to your body and provide support where it’s most needed.”

We used a series of weight tests to provide objective data on pressure relief. On the Classic, our 25kg weight sank deeply but the materials bounced back quickly when the weight was removed.

This reflects our hands-on experience: the Classic easily cushions the body and is quick to maintain this cushioned support whenever you change position.

To bundle or not to bundle?

What is Saatva’s white glove delivery actually like?

Our mattress tester, Ashley Zlatopolsky, experienced Saatva’s White Glove Delivery first-hand when she had the Saatva Solaire mattress delivered. Here’s what it was like:

“After I placed my order, a local delivery partner called to schedule the drop-off and offered a date just two days later, which was a pleasant surprise.

Even better, they worked around my daughter’s nap schedule by putting us first on their route. It’s a small detail, but for anyone with a toddler at home, it makes a world of difference.

When the delivery team arrived, they handled everything. Within 30 minutes, they’d carried the box inside, unwrapped the mattress, lifted it onto my bed frame and inflated it to full shape.

It’s a level of care you don’t get with most mattress-in-a-box brands. The overall experience was efficient, friendly and genuinely helpful, which is exactly what you’d hope for with a high-end mattress that’s priced well into the industry’s most premium tier.

I can confidently say it’s one of the biggest reasons why the brand feels genuinely premium.”

What is Saatva’s white glove delivery service?

They will also take away your old mattress and foundation / bed spring (you need to select this option at checkout, but it is free.)

Saatva mattresses are delivered flat, meaning they’re ready to sleep on immediately, no waiting for the materials to expand.

While many sleep brands offer free mattress delivery, white glove delivery is a step-up and typically comes at an extra charge, which can run upwards of $199.

Saatva Classic mattress = worth the hype

I finally got a chance to try out the Saatva Classic earlier this year and let me say, my expectations were high and the Saatva Classic still managed to exceed them.

The Classic looks and feels inviting, so it wasn’t long after we got it on the bed frame at the Sleep Lab before I gave into temptation and had a little lie down.

I started off on my back before moving to my stomach and then my side. And then I stayed there for a little while, because I was so comfortable. But what surprised me most was how suitable the Saatva was in every position.

On my stomach, my hips and shoulders were kept lifted and even, to reduce the strain on my back. But shift to my side and the cushioning at my arms yielded to the change in pressure to prevent any aches and pains.

I don’t think the Classic will appeal to every single sleeper — the weight limit could be improved and some people will prefer a bed with less bounce — but this is as close to perfect as it gets in a mattress. And it’s $400 off for Cyber Monday.

Happy Cyber Monday!

Goodbye for now!

But before I go, let’s take a last look at the Saatva Classic deal:

Yes, the Saatva Classic has risen in price — but let’s put those ‘price hikes’ into perspective

The Saatva Classic is a luxury handcrafted innerspring mattress that is worth every inch of its premium price tag. However, it underwent a minor price increase earlier this summer, which translated to a price increase of $40 on a queen size.

So how normal is it for mattress prices to creep up like this, and how do those price increases compare to other brands?

A combination of rising mattress tariffs and inflated production costs mean that many of our favorite mattresses are rising in price — Saatva included.

For Cyber Monday last year, a queen Saatva Classic cost $1,695, compared to the current sale price of $1,739.

In comparison, last Cyber Monday you could have bought a queen Winkbed mattress for $1,499. This Cyber Monday, you’ll pay $1,799. That’s the first price increase the Winbed has undergone in four years, but it’s a significant jump.

However, the Cocoon by Sealy Chill mattress has undergone an even bigger price increase. Last Cyber Monday a queen would have cost $599, which was an excellent price on a cooling all-foam mattress. However, in today’s Cyber Monday sales, you’ll pay $919. Now that’s a price hike.

What’s my point? Yes, you’ll pay more for the Classic today than you would have last year. However, mattresses simply cost more to make, and the price increases we’re seeing from Saatva are conservative compared to some other brands.

Back pain? This is the Saatva mattress I recommend to most people

The Saatva Rx is the brand’s luxury solution to chronic back pain. However, it’s the Saatva Classic that I recommend to most people with back pain. Here’s why we rate it as the best mattress for back pain you can buy instead of the Rx…

The Saatva Classic is a luxury innerspring hybrid mattress that’s handcrafted in the US and approved by the American Chiropractic Association. It’s available in three firmness options and two heights, making it suitable for (nearly) all sleepers.

A 3” Euro top cover delivers blissful pressure relief along the touch points of the mattress, while denser quilting along the centre third of the mattress provides the much-needed lumbar support.

Beneath this cushioning layer, a ½” CertiPUR-US certified memory foam lumbar crown gently cradles your lower spine, preventing it from falling out of healthy alignment with the rest of your body.

In comparison, the Saatva Rx has been designed specifically to ease and support chronic back and joint pain. Our lead tester, Alison, has mild scoliosis and felt a market improvement in her pain levels while sleeping on the Rx (it’s worth reading her Saatva RX mattress review).

And that’s likely because of its blend of memory foam lumbar crown and therapeutic support core. However, as a specialist bed, the RX is $2,999 for a queen at Saatva, which is certainly an investment. But a worthwhile one if you have severe back and joint pain and can afford it.

In contrast, the Classic is $1,739 at Saatva, and will likely be comfortable and supportive enough for most people with back pain. Plus, with three firmness levels to choose from, it’s suitable for practically every type of sleeper.

Why the Cyber Monday sales are a great time to buy a twin Saatva mattress

There’s $400 off all sizes of all adult Saatva mattresses in today’s Cyber Monday sales. While that’s a great saving on every Saatva mattress size and type, this deals brings two mattresses within Saatva’s luxurious suite of beds to under $1,000 in a twin.

For luxury mattresses handcrafted from (largely) organic materials in the US, that’s a great price.

Most mattress sales are tiered, which means that the biggest discounts are usually reserved for the most expensive purchases – which is always the biggest mattress sizes.

That’s what makes the current Cyber Monday sale such a good saving for those shopping for a twin mattress this weekend. These are the two Saatva mattresses that drop to below $1,000 for a twin…

Why is the Saatva Classic cover so great for your sleep?

OK, you may have gathered that we love the Saatva Classic, and that’s because it delivers superior quality from base all the way up to the cover.

So what exactly makes the Classic’s cover so special?

Firstly it’s naturally hypoallergenic (great for those with allergies), and made from a blend that includes breathable organic cotton (hello, cool sleep surface!). Then there’s the antimicrobial treatment made exclusively for Saatva by Guardin.

Although it has no odor or color, the biodegradable Guardin treatment comprises a blend of minerals and essential oils, including mint, lemongrass, thyme and geranium, and is designed to prevent the growth of mold, bacteria and mildew (which obviously aren’t great for your health and can discolor your mattress).

But that’s not all, the cover is actually part of a 3” Euro pillow top that features Saatva’s Zoned Lumbar Quilting, which in layman’s terms, means that there’s zoned support in the lumbar region to help support your lower back.

And, like all Saatva mattresses, the Classic is fiberglass free, and instead has a natural flame barrier in the Euro pillow top made from plant-based thistle pulp.

If you’re curious how all this feels, our Managing Editor of Sleep, Certified Sleep Science Coach, Claire Davies describes the classic’s pillow top as offering “an immediate hit of cushioned comfort.”

This is the best Saatva deal for most people

OK, so let’s kick things off with the best Saatva deal for most people: the Saatva Classic Cyber Monday sale. Right now, you can save $400 on all sizes of the Classic at Saatva That’s a return of the best price we’ve seen on the Classic in the past six months, and is the biggest saving you can usually expect on the best mattress we’ve ever tested.

After three rigorous rounds of re-testing, the Classic earned a near perfect score across all key areas of performance, including pressure relief and temperature regulation. In addition to testing in our Sleep Lab, Managing Editor Claire Davies has slept on the Classic for a year and credits it with helping her “sleep like a teenager.”

The Classic comes in three firmness options, Plush Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm, and two heights, 11.5″ and 14.5″. These customizable options make it suitable for practically every type of sleeper, including hot sleepers and those with back pain.

However, couples who weigh 300lbs each or more will need something with a higher weigh capacity (more on that to come). There’s currently $400 off all sizes of the Classic in the Saatva mattress sales, beating the $300 off sale we saw recently.

If you’ve had your eye on the Classic and have been waiting for the best time to buy, this is it.
