Lyca Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that uses another network’s towers to provide talk, text, and data to its customers. In this case, it relies on T-Mobile’s network, which was recently named one of the fastest networks in the U.S.
In our testing, we’ve found that performance through an MVNO tends to closely match the service you’d get directly from the parent carrier, though you may see speeds slowed down when there’s network traffic. We haven’t tested Lyca’s performance, but we imagine the experience would be similar to other MVNOs.
