Telangana schools get real-time health safety net with new digital app by Helping Hand Foundation

Hyderabad: A digital health application that provides a real-time healthcare safety net for students across 200 residential schools of Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society has been launched by Helping Hand Foundation (HHF).

This digital health application was formally inaugurated at the Forest Academy in Dulapally by Minister for Minority Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin. The event was attended by Faheem Qureshi, president of TGMRIES and B Shafiullah, IFS, Principal Secretary of Minority Welfare.

A 24/7 command and control centre

At the heart of this initiative is a centralised Command and Control Health Centre that operates 24/7. The digital platform serves as the nerve centre for this facility, allowing health professionals to monitor student well-being across the state in real-time.

Unlike traditional health records, this system adopts a multidisciplinary approach by integrating:

– Clinical Care: Real-time tracking of illness and recovery.

– Mental Health: Proactive monitoring of student psychological well-being.

– Food Safety and Hygiene: Oversight of environmental factors and nutrition.

End-to-end case management

One of the most significant features of the new system is its lifecycle tracking capability.

Every health case is documented from the moment of initial screening and diagnosis through to treatment, follow-up, and final closure. This ‘continuum of care’ model ensures that no student falls through the cracks, fostering a culture of accountability and continuity in medical treatment.

“This platform represents a scalable and replicable model for integrated school health systems,” the foundation stated, noting that the data-driven approach allows for early identification of disease patterns and emerging health trends.

Data-driven governance

The application empowers administrators with advanced analytics dashboards.

By filtering data by district, institution or specific disease categories, officials can make evidence-based decisions and deploy targeted preventive measures where they are needed most.

Furthermore, the system streamlines referral linkages. In the event of a medical emergency or a case requiring escalation, the platform ensures seamless coordination between the school, higher-tier healthcare facilities, and logistical services, significantly reducing life-critical delays.
