What Happened in the Previous TLOU Season 2 Episode?

The episode shows the aftermath of Joel’s brutal murder. Tommy bids a final goodbye to his elder brother and says, ‘Give my love to Sarah.’ This minor scene was enough to make every fan cry their hearts out for the harsh things Joel had to go through when he was alive. Joel lost Sarah at the start of the outbreak, and after the one who gave him purpose to live also grew distant from him after the Salt Lake incident.

A traumatised Ellie wakes up in the hospital and starts screaming after getting visions of Abby killing Joel. Following that scene, the episode sees a time jump of three months, and the town of Jackson is getting rebuilt now. Ellie is getting counseling from Gail, who is trying to evaluate the girl’s mental state. Later, Ellie broke down, recalling the time she spent with Joel. She visits her surrogate father’s grave and drops coffee beans there to show she still cares.

Jackson has a community meeting where they are supposed to decide whether a team should go after Joel’s killers or whether they should focus on Jackson’s reconstruction. The majority of the crowd votes for the second option, leaving Ellie frustrated. However, after learning that Dina knows the names of the ones who murdered Joel, Ellie decides to chase her alone. Dina insists, and Ellie lets her join her.

The episode then introduces a group of survivors called Seraphites, who are killed by WLF soldiers. After discovering their brutally murdered bodies, Ellie and Dina learns about the threats they will have to encounter on their way.
