Sony might have just released the PlayStation 5 Pro, but at $700, it has yet to see any Black Friday deals, and that’s not likely to change anytime soon. It’s a good thing, then, that the far more affordable PS5 Slim models originally released last year are stepping up to pick up the slack.
Both the Digital Edition and Disc Edition of the console are on sale across multiple retailers, although you’ll want to be careful where you buy. While it’s pretty self explanatory that only the Disc Edition comes with a disc drive, you could also miss out on a few potential goodies if you’re not careful, regardless of which model you pick.
That’s because, while Amazon and Best Buy are both selling the consoles on their own, there are also bundles available that throw in some extra goodies at no additional cost.
Fortnite players will want to opt for the Fortnite Cobalt Star Bundle, which is available for both PS5 Slim models and throws in 1,000 V-Bucks and some extra cosmetics (I’m sure someone younger than me will know whether they’re any good, but hey, they’re worth it for the stunning price of free). Sports fans, meanwhile, can get a PS5 Slim Digital Edition with a copy of NBA 2K25 direct from PlayStation for the same price. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be an NBA bundle for the model with a disc drive, and add-on disc drives are currently not on sale.
All PS5 Slim bundles listed here come with the console in white along with a single DualSense controller, and if you’re so inclined, you can also save big on the PSVR 2 right now, which will open up your new console to a whole new type of game. In general, these deals knock about $75 off the price of getting a PS5, which puts it in spitting distance of the much less powerful Nintendo Switch OLED’s typical (non-sale) price.
