Yash Raj Films’ highly anticipated War 2 is set to bring a fresh twist to the Spy Universe, and it’s not through the expected crossover of Tiger, Pathaan, and Kabir. While neither Salman Khan’s Tiger nor Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan will appear in the film, their names will reportedly be referenced at crucial points in the storyline. The real game-changer comes in the end-credit sequence, which will lay the foundation for the next big chapter in the YRF Spy Universe — Alpha.

According to sources, Aditya Chopra is committed to moving the narrative forward without relying on “all-stars in one frame” gimmicks. The long-awaited union of Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan is being saved for a much bigger project, currently in the development stage. Instead, War 2 will focus on advancing the overarching plot while setting the stage for future installments.

The surprise package is Bobby Deol. The Animal actor will make a special cameo in War 2. But this isn’t just a fleeting appearance — it’s the grand introduction of his character to the Spy Universe. As per insider information, Bobby Deol’s role is pivotal, as he will play one of the main antagonists in the timeline ahead. It’s none other than Alpha!

“Aditya Chopra is going against the tide,” the source revealed to Bollywood Hungama. “Instead of using War 2 to highlight Alpha’s two female leads, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, he is choosing to unleash the negative force of Bobby Deol’s character. It’s an epic introduction that will have a lasting impact on the universe’s future.”

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan in the leading role of Kabir, Kiara Advani as Kavya Kuthra and Jr. NTR as the antagonist Vikram. The film will hit cinemas in August 14, 2025.
