Xbox’s platform-agnostic vision is about to enter uncharted territory, at least if this leak proves accurate. According to several reports and an image posted by @Zuby_Tech on X, Team Green partnered with Meta for an Xbox-themed edition of the Quest 3S VR Headset. Rumors surrounding the collaboration have been circulating since 2024, and we may be approaching its official reveal shortly.
The image in question displays the ‘Meta 3S Xbox Edition packaging.’ Emblazoned near the bottom are Meta Quest and Xbox logos, with the box art adopting the platform’s all-black motifs. The VR Headset follows suit and is doused in black, with a green trim running on the front panel’s edges. Stationed near the top is the Xbox branding, and we can also spot an Xbox Controller sitting in the top right corner.
The leaks don’t end there. Kevin Lopez of Game Sandwich reported that the Xbox Meta 3s will be shadow-dropped this Tuesday, June 24. The report also mentions that the product will be priced at $399 and will offer three months of Game Pass Ultimate.
The product’s contents include a black and green headset with matching accessories, an Elite Strap, and an Xbox wireless controller. The headset itself has 128 GB of system memory, making it a standard Meta Quest 3S with Xbox branding stapled all over. However, these details have yet to be confirmed, so take them with a grain of salt.
Seeing Xbox venture into the VR market is jarring, to say the least, but it aligns with their newly adopted ‘Everything is an Xbox’ motto. The company has been adamant about removing platform requirements for its software, and its latest collaboration reinforces this philosophy. As for how popular their VR endeavor will be, only time will tell.
