UT Medical Center debuts Health Matters TV show on PBS

The new PBS show will feature East Tennessee doctors sharing health tips, prevention advice and insights on chronic conditions.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn — UT Medical Center and East Tennessee PBS are launching a TV show to educate the community about health, wellness and disease prevention.

“Health Matters with Dr. Jay Crook” premieres at 5 p.m. Aug. 30 on East Tennessee PBS. Dr. Jay Crook, Senior Vice President of Physician Enterprise and Chief Medical Officer at UTMC, hosts the program.

Each episode features conversations with physicians and clinical experts from across the region. Topics include chronic conditions, preventive screenings, medical innovations and wellness tips for daily life.

“We know that many people have questions about their health but don’t always know where to turn for answers,” Crook said. “Health Matters is our way of making expert insight more accessible—and more human—for our friends and neighbors.”

UTMC said the show reflects its ongoing commitment to community engagement and public health education. Episodes will also stream online.
