Smart locks are changing. The advent of smart home standards like Matter has made widely-compatible smart locks more available, but even the most basic Matter-compatible models can be pricey. Desloc’s latest lock, the D110 Plus, may not support Matter – but it brings features like a fingerprint sensor to a much lower price point, making it a compelling option among the best smart locks.

Is the lack of Matter too big of an issue though? I’ve been using the Desclos D110 Plus for a few weeks to find out.

The Desclos D110 Plus launched in August 2025, and is available right now from the Desloc website and from Amazon. It’s available at a list price of $130, however it’s currently discounted to $90 as a launch discount. It comes in black and silver colors.

Desloc D110 Plus review: Design

The Deslock D110 Plus is relatively sleek and stylish. It’s not necessarily the slimmest smart lock out there — look to the Yale Assure 2 for that — but most of the bulk of it is contained to the interior portion of the lock, which means the outside part of your door doesn’t have a massive lock on the front of it. To be clear, its footprint is still quite large, but the exterior half of the D110 Plus has a kind of tapered design that helps make it look sleeker.

The interior portion of the lock is relatively basic. It has a compartment for four AA batteries (which are unfortunately not included), along with a thumb latch to manually lock and unlock the door. The battery life sits at six months, which is fine, but not incredible. Its lower battery life likely comes down to the Wi-Fi connectivity.

The exterior portion of it is a little more advanced. It has a PIN pad (with light-up capacitive buttons), along with a traditional keyhole and a USB-C port on the bottom for emergency power. It also has a fingerprint sensor right above the PIN pad, which is nice to see at this price point.

The fingerprint sensor itself was decently accurate and relatively quick. I had no major issues with its functionality in day-to-day life.

What makes the design of this lock unique, however, is the tiny display above the fingerprint sensor, which can display information and settings, helping make it a little easier to control. You can use the screen to add users, reset the lock, and so on. It’s not necessarily something you need to use on a regular basis, but it’s still nice to not have to rely on vague audio cues or different-colored lights to try and get a sense of what the lock is actually doing.

Overall, the lock is pretty sleek and stylish. I like the black model, but I think most will probably prefer the silver color, if it matches the rest of their home hardware.

Desloc D110 Plus review: Installation and setup

Installing the Desloc D110 Plus is very simple – and not all that different from installing any other smart lock. Note, you’ll need to remove all the components of your existing lock to install this one, including the deadbolt.

After you do so, you’ll install the new deadbolt, then thread through the exterior portion of the lock and screw the base plate into that portion of the lock. Then, you’ll connect a wire from the exterior half to the interior half, and screw the final half of the lock into the base plate. Then, insert the batteries, place the battery cover on the lock, and download the app.

I found it very easy to add the lock to the app, too. I had to create a new account, which took less than a minute, and when I went to add the lock to my account, the app immediately found it. Then, I just had to follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the lock, add my fingerprint, and add the lock to my Wi-Fi network. The lock does not come with a door sensor – so while you can set up automatic locking, it’s time-based and it’ll still turn the deadbolt even if the door is open.

Desloc D110 Plus review: App and smart home

The Desloc D110 Plus works with the Desloc app, which works fine. After you set the lock up, you’ll see it listed on the main screen in the “Devices” tab. I feel like most people will only have one “device” set up, so the app should just straight to the settings of the lock rather than having users tap into the lock. This is true of most smart home apps though – they all want us to use lots of devices from them.

Regardless, I found it easy to change settings and access the features I needed. From that Devices tab, you can still lock and unlock the door without diving into settings. Tap into the device, and you’ll see a history of events, and buttons to add new users and access more settings. From there, you can set up Auto Locking, and activate Vacation Mode (which treats all unlocking events as so-called “alarm events”).

Lastly, the lock has an anti-peeping feature, which lets you add random digits to the beginning and end of your passcode – something that you can activate or deactivate in the app. This is a handy feature that not all smart locks offer, though it has started to become a little more common.

The lock supports Google Home and Amazon Alexa, which is a little weak in terms of smart lock compatibility. I’m not quite sure why Desloc didn’t go for Matter support, which would essentially allow the lock to work with any major smart home platform. It seems like it’s a win-win to add Matter, as it means that manufacturers don’t have to add individual smart home support anymore. Regardless, if you buy this lock, don’t expect to be able to add it to an Apple HomeKit home or use it with other ecosystems beyond Google Home and Alexa.

Desloc D110 Plus review: Verdict

The Desloc D110 Plus is a solid smart lock in its price range. It’s easy to use, plus it has a fingerprint sensor for simple access. In fact, it’s one of the few smart locks in this price range that also has Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to access the lock from anywhere and see the lock’s history of events without needing to be nearby.

I do wish it had wider smart home support, but if you’re looking for a smart lock with a fingerprint sensor that you can use remotely, and don’t mind either using the Desloc app or sticking to Google Home or Amazon Alexa, the Desloc D110 Plus is worth buying.
